It can be both depending on who we're having this relationship with?
Whenever the relationship is a rigid one, with someone quite big on repression, whether it comes from cultural or individual conditioning, if this someone views vulnerability as a weakness then it's going to be a weakness as a result lol
And the opposite, when both are at peace with vulnerability then it's going to be a positive feature, a necessary feature even, that deepens the conection. Because vulnerability, when it is appreciated, shows both parties that they aren't afraid, that they feel safe enough to be authentic. If their culture allows that, if their life story allows that also
... So did you experience a relationship where vulnerability was a weakness?
Being vulnerable with your partner is important if you want to develop a strong bond. No one should have their walls up in a relationship, otherwise how would you ever truly understand one another? We bond by sharing our secrets, our desires, our repressed thoughts, our kinks, our weaknesses... everything. If you're too scared to take a leap of faith in your relationship, it'll never grow as strong as I wish it to be.
as YOU wish it to be***
vulnerability in relationships is a strength!
My aim on GAG is to decode love, drama, and all the messy stuff in between for you. 😉
Vulnerability in a relationship is 100% a strength, not a weakness. Itās emotional courage. It builds trust, intimacy, and real connection instead of shallow situationships. Hiding feelings looks strong but usually screams fear. Vulnerability says: āIām risking my heart with you.ā Thatās where real falling in love actually starts, not in the fake, lovebombing phase.

For me its a strength
we are all vulnerable to a point
but you also have to know how to read people and understand who they truly are And how far you can go with what ever the scenario might be it definitely is not a weakness at least for me
I think a vulnerable woman in a marriage, is an act of strength, showing her man that she loves him at all costs, sometimes when a husband hurts his wife emotionally or in a brawl and she show him that she's vulnerable, won't say a word, don't fight back, it makes the husband feels sorry and would love his wife even more, the fight will end in no time, unlike the feminazi wife who threatens back and brawl with her husband... etc, she'll make things a lot worse!
Weak women are my point of weakness while a wicked woman acting like men will be teared apart by me!
So yes, sometimes your weakness is your point of strength, at least for me it is!
I think itās a bit of both depending on time and place.
Being in a relationship shouldnāt be carte blanche to be vulnerable 24/7.
There are times a situation calls for a bit of shielding.
But someone who can never be vulnerable will never be truly seen.
Itās important to achieve that balance
Genuine question, not trolling.
What is the payoff from shielding?
Sometimes your partner might already be dealing with a lot, and be overwhelmed with things.
If you come in with more vulnerability you are asking them to coddle your feelings despite all theyāve dealing with as it is.
Shielding is my way of saying ābeing someoneās rockā
Which does require putting aside your own vulnerability to offer the help the other person needs.
And it goes both ways, because life hits hard at random times. Sometimes you will need your partner to just be steady for you. Sometimes you do it for them.
Makes sense. So you mean picking the right times and places.
Vulnerability is really a prerequisite. The ability to have your deepest self be revealed and loved and accepted is in itself beautiful
When you in a relationship and your vulnerable thats strength cause its hard to allow yourself to be vulnerable. Its so hard most people are afraid to do it
Vulnerability is necessary for a healthy relationship
Sounds like a weakness
It's the whole box and dice.
Weakness
