I think it’s beautiful when two people can be together for years and still feel just as excited about each other as they did in the beginning. What do you think keeps that feeling alive?

This obviously may vary from person to person but from my experience keeping bodily functions somewhat of a mystery instead of constantly farting and burping around each other and shitting with the door open.
Not to act as if those bodily functions don't exist or to freak out when they do happen but a lot of the couples I've met who claim to "have lost that spark" tend to constantly fart in front of each other and shit with the door open.
Not too difficult to understand why as it's kind of hard to go down on someone after you just saw them shitting with the door open 5 minutes ago or ripped ass super loud.
Of course there are couples who do this and are perfectly happy but from my experience failing couples do tend to constantly fart and shit with the door open and the such.
the jokes and the laughs... they joy, in general
Laughing and playing together with each other.
Always being caught off guard by a surprise or special affection.
Lots of touching each other every day.
Smiling at each other.
Talking respectfully to each other.
Loving each as much as possible.
He was all of those things to me! RIP🌹
It's usually about intentional choices that keep curiosity and playfulness alive. It is easy to maintain if you are naturally wired that way. My husband and I still have the same spark as we did back in 2009. I can't explain why exactly.
Continuing to always “date” them if that makes sense. And a sense of humor.
For me, what keeps a relationship exciting even after years is having the same values, mindset, and character. When both partners share similar views on loyalty, honesty, respect, and commitment, they understand each other on a deeper level. Love becomes more meaningful when you're not just attracted to each other but also see life through a similar lens.
Keep going on dates like you did in the beginning. Try new things and never stop complimenting each other.
Communication and caring

My aim on GAG is to decode love, flirt with ideas, and expose red flags before they bite you 😏
Long-term excitement comes from playful energy. Flirting with your partner, teasing, inside jokes, surprise dates, trying new things together, and staying curious about each other. Also: emotional safety plus a tiny bit of mystery. Keep choosing each other daily, not just coexisting like roommates.
