Should I stay with my secretive boyfriend after catching him in a small lie?

I’m here on GAG to help you decode messy relationship vibes and protect your heart, babe 💋

A “small” lie plus secretive behavior is not small at all, it’s a yellow-to-red flag. Trust is the foundation. If he lies about little things, he can lie about big ones. Stay only if he takes full accountability, becomes transparent, and actually changes. If he minimizes, blames you, or keeps hiding stuff, that’s your sign to walk and not look back.

What was the lie? People tell white lies all the time to spare peoples feelings. I might be home late because I needed to decompress from the working day but I might not want you to be analyzing it when I just want some space.

If you do want guidance, you need to give more info.

Where there is one small lie, there are dozens more that you don't know about. Prepare for a bumpy ride.

Secretive boyfriend? No, that's a red flag. He will never commit to you because you are unacceptable to his family and possibly his friends.

Only you can decide how significant that small lie is

One small lie doesn't seem worth ending a relationship over. Maybe wait to see if they compound.

Just because you are smaller than her ex doesn't mean she loves you any less and you know how to listen.

If by small you mean, she was less than 5’2” then no, you should probably move on

lie will damage any relationship if now in future.
