Would you get jealous of someone's GPA?

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody would be jealous if you found out that someone had a 4.0 GPA because she told you that she will be on the Honor's society & the Dean's list this semester? Would you also be jealous if you found out that she got an A while you got a C? The most important question is would you want to date this person or become their friend?Would you be less interest in her or more? Thanks you in advance!

I have had people be jealous of my GPA before and I find that really stupid. Everyone has the opportunity to study harder, get a tutor, do what you need to do to get the grades. Also there's choosing honors/AP classes in high school to get your GPA above a 4.0. Mine in high school was a 4.3 but I had friends with 4.5 GPAs. Sure I would rather have theirs but they earned it by taking some AP classes I wasn't willing to take. I've only had one really odd girl not want to be my friend because I had such higher grades than her. I was in a normal history class senior year with her and she didn't like me as soon as she saw my physics H and calc AP books. Whatever. Only one guy made it kinda awkward when we tried to date and he figured out my GPA was so high compared to him and that odd girl (they were friends, both athletes and party types). Things never really went anywhere because we turned out robot be that good of a match. Basically, anyone who makes your GPA that much of an issue is pretty immature. Hope this helps!

No, but I'm one of those people. I once had a guy tell me that maybe my intelligence/ambitious nature may be intimidating to guys. :/

But I used to go to a college that had a broader swoop academic achievers, so I kinda stuck out as "too smart for here" sometimes.

I'm at a 'pickier' school and I blend in (academically) a lot better now and its never an issue with people.

I think it mostly depends on the person's confidence with themselves and that they can celebrate someone's else's successes.

Why would I be jealous? that is a bad personality trait to have. Of course, I would wish my grade were higher. Who knows? Since this person is pulling better grades than I am, maybe we can form a study group. I wouldn't lose interest in someone because of this, this would probably bring me closer to them.

A persons mind is very attractive to me. Intelligence is never a deal breaker.

i wouldn't care especially since I know I can get good grades if I wanted to. And it wouldn't make me want to date her or not date her any more or less

I wouldn't be jealous..just more so angry at myself for not trying harder.

I would still be friends with this person...they'll probably motivate me to get my grades up also

I don't care, it is stupid. A lot of grades are effort. I can sooner understand being jealous of someone who does really well on standardized tests that get you into college or graduate school but even then you can't do much

Nope, because I got my C from not doing my homework, sleeping in class, skipping school etc. :D

And I've always been a sucker for the smart girls anyway.

if I had no life or cared about other people's sh*t...I might get jealous...but probably not.
