How should I feel when my boyfriend doesn't let me win?

Boyfriend and Winning

So my boyfriend and I have been going out for almost 8 months now. He is very into fantasy board games and TCGs.

He enjoys playing against me and we usually play a game every couple days.

The problem is that he wins every game. Usually this wouldn't bug me but I feel kind of...stupid and defeated.

I explained to him the other day how I felt and he replied that he has been doing fantasy board games since he was young and that I shouldn't feel bad.

Should I feel stupid or defeated?

Sometimes I think that he should 'throw me a bone' and let me win every so often (?)

What do you guys think? Does anyone else have experience with this?

I enjoy playing the games but it gets exhausting losing all the time.

As a player of Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon TCG, and YuGiOh!...

...what he should do is:

1) take more time to teach you his "secrets". Techniques, monster/spell/trap combinations, how to build decks, etc.

2) handicap himself. Asking him to just forfeit turns or something is ridiculous. He can handicap himself like make his deck less potent, such as removing monsters, spells, traps, items, etc, from the deck he uses. At the same time, beef up your deck so yours is stronger than his.

This is what I do with my little brothers with video games. I'll use standard characters while they use beefed-up characters, or in sports games I'll use a weaker team than them, or allow them to use custom rosters.

Doing the two points above isn't TOO much to ask imo.

He's a jerk, it's a polite gesture to let the girl win sometimes.

Excessive gaming itself is nerdy and geeky, so such behavior can come only from someone who really doesn't want to get laid!

He should throw you a bone now that you've explained to him how you feel. If he doesn't, he's kind of a jerk. But no, don't feel stupid.
