My boyfriend ran away, said he needs to become a man

4 days ago me and my boyfriend were the happiest we've ever been. We have been together for 4 years. He moved to Nashville for a year id go visit and stuff we were great. Well that was a year ago. He moved back home with me and has been living with his mom and ever since this last winter he got very depressed can't find a job lazy act.. anyways he snapped one night told me cheated on me in nashville one time it ment nothing and cried in my arms he felt so horrible about it that he left me Because he said I don't deserve it. well I was not that mad because I know it ment nothing and mistakes happen.. he ran away and Haven't heard from him in 4 days. I love this boy but he needs to grow up and start treating his family and me with respect he took off on his bike and nobody knows where he is headed he is an adventurer and I know how bad and guilty he felt when he left. I know he loves me he left me a not saying he will be sad till he dies and regrets his decisions. I will wait for him because he is the love of my life. do you think that my chances with him are good? oh and he has done this before. he ran away and he came back to me I think he is going through some things I don't understand.

Nothing is certain at this age. We think it is certain because, we don't have the experience of life to know that it's not always the way life works. His life sounds very much like mine was at that age. Running 100mph with no idea where we're going. He'll figure it out but it will probably take a few years. Most people at that age have no clue what they want. My advice; Break it off. Just for now. Give each other some time to grow up and figure out what you want. In a few years, you'll either come running back to each other or you'll be glad you put it on hold.

well there is much more to him. his father passed away when he was 14 he has not been able to get passed it. he is very insecure with himself he has had everything given to him his whole life he is or can be very selfish. ever since his dad died he has been a mess. I have helped him out so much and I know he loves and appriciates me. he runs away this time every year its like he gets in this depression or something nobody knows. but he really is a great guy and I know he will miss me.

Like I said before, you will both have a very different perspective on life as the years go by. Give yourselves some time to grow up and learn a little about life before you choose who you want to share it with and creating them. I saw a billboard once that read;
