Is a 7 year age gap too much or OK?

So I've been talking to this guy who I met through a few friends a while ago. I do quite like him, we've been on a couple of casual dates and got on well. I'm 21, and he's 28 by the way.

I've been single for a while, and I'm pretty content at the moment so I don't to rush into anything too fast.

I do find him attractive, and I think he feels the same.

The only thing is there's a 7 year age gap between us.. I'm not sure how I feel about it.. probably because the most age gap I've ever had with someone is 4 years, so I'm not sure what to expect if something comes out of it.

I'm not sure that it'd be an issue right now, I just don't really know whether the age gap would become an issue?

Are people around 28 still wanting different things, or if it went further could it work out just fine/better?

In this situation, I wouldn't think the age gap matters, as long as you both are on the same page about the relationship, then it should be fine. It's different when a girl is dating a guy that's 5 years older than her, and she's in middle school. Not to say that the older guy doesn't just genuinely like her. People just tend to immediately look at that as a bad thing, even if there are good intentions. Down the road it would cause problems in the relationship most likely.

I don't know, anyway, yeah I think you should be fine. lol

It will work out fine, the age gap can be any size, because if your compatible, then the important issues are dealt with, age does not play a role at this age, although women often prefer men a little older than themselves as men are a little more mature than the ones her same age,x

Thanx for commenting... yes, I go for men a bit older than me usually. I was just a little unsure being that there's 7 years difference, him being that bit more mature ~ whether that it would make me come off as more immature to him?

No, because women mature faster than men, so him being 7 years your senior, would still probably put him behind your level of mental maturity, but you will be able to accept that because one the same age as you, probably would still have desire to play games and have his buddies close by lol, so as long as you keep him older, your be on an acceptable level where you both understand each other, and not out play the other, good luck,x

Being in my mid 40s and having a wife who is 7 1/2 years older. I would suggest 2 things. In life there are certain stages and I would recommend that the younger person be at least 25 in order to basically be in a relatable place in life. Also as it is mentioned above men do tend to mature more slowly then women. I would also suggest that if the younger person is 25 it should proably be the woman, to put them kind of in the same maturity level.

On the flip side, the older you are ie both people into their 30's, the age gap makes less difference maturity wise. Also compatibility as I have seen mentioned here as well is huge. Same types of goals etc.

With the feelings that you seem to have for him and what you believe he has for you it would be totally foolish for you not to at least give it a try. Very worst that can happen is you find that the two of you are not compatable for a relationship, but know you at least gave it a shot.

I don't see anything wrong with it at all! If it's any help, I've got a couple of friends that got married a few years back and at the time, she was 19 and he was 28 and they're honestly great together! I think just give it a chance and see where it goes :)
