My ex used to treat me like crap when we were dating. However, when he was drunk (not off his face drunk) he would be so apologetic that he wasn't treating me well and always told me how much I meant to him.

He's an a**hole. Whether he was drunk, sober, high, jet lagged, etc he still treated you like crap and that's all that matters. So you shouldn't waste energy on someone who can't treat you right. Who cares if they apologized after? If he hadn't treated you like crap in the first place there would be nothing to apologize for. ON TO THE NEXT BOY!
