Why is my boyfriend suddenly acting like a jerk?

We've been together for almost 6 months, and for about 2 weeks he has been acting like a jerk. He brags to my mom about how much he drank, how drunk he was, etc., he won't invite me anywhere, he lies to me about little things, and is really rude whenever I talk to him. What is going on? Is he getting sick of me? I am getting sick of him.

Um...I think he is having an episode of ego inflation which happens when some-guys get comfortable.

Maybe you could sit him down if he is mature enough and talk to him. Which...does not seem really likely but I do pray it works.

But..was it a sudden change? He might be missing his silly buddies.

Or..Maybe grabbing his toy and giving it a firm twist will wake him up >-<;; I would only suggest this in a very very rare and last resort type thing as you really never want to hurt a guy like that.

I'm definitely going to talk to him about it. It does seem to be a sudden change, he was fine until he came to stay at my place for the night, then he was a jerk for the next two days.

Um..i know this is really really personal...but did you...

I mean...he might be running around in circles feeling confident with an inflated ego and you might need to pop it for him. Some-guys are a little...jerk-headed.

I slapped my best-friends boyfriend for thinking he could do something close to this and get away with it. That really did bring him back to reality but I felt guilty and sprained my wrist.

Maybe you need to grab him by the horns and educate him missy because when something special like 'that' happens it is a unspoken promise. There is a this evil joke about males in general, "How many males does it take to screw in a light bulb? 3, one to put it up to the light and screw it in, 2 to listen to him brag about the screwing part" it just really says they get comfortable and get the male ego in full swing - Knock him off his stool and make him understand you are not a toy.

Wow what happened? Were there any signs that you noticed that led up to his change? I would dump him because it's only going to get worse. Been there.

A few weeks before this started, we had a huge fight and nearly broke up. I thought we were fine, but lately he has been acting like this. I don't know if it's me or what.

aaahhh yep. I see. that's what probably caused this because my first boyfriend did the same thing to me. Got into an argument and started to act distant, didn't invite me anywhere and started act like a jerk towards me. I didn't feel appreciated by him. I would talk to him about this and tell him how you feel if he ignores your feelings then break up with him, seriously. your worth much more than that.

I'd break up with him. That just sounds ridiculous. You honestly deserve more than that. Talking to your mom about being drunk? what the hell. that's just plain disrespectful.

I told him that it wasn't appropriate to tell her that sort of thing, and he just said "So, it's about me, I can say it if I want."
