Which family bond is strongest?

Question

Like father/son, mother/son, father/daughter, daughter/brother, etc. Maybe even niece/aunt, nephew/uncle, etc.

For some reason I always get mother/son seemed to be the "strongest" bond. I know my mother loves me and I love her a lot...especially since I lost my dad when I was younger.

It changes as the child grows up and depending upon parenting style. I think a mother's bond is strongest in most cases and while with daughters it is strong they can, at the same time, rub each other the wrong way. There's a common psychology theory about jealousy of a mother towards female off-spring. If this is the case maybe the bond with male off-spring is calmer but having said that, for all the fights between mother and daughter, they'd usually go to the ends of the earth for each other.

In my experience, my mother considers me her closest friend and confidant but she has a list as long as her arm of criticisms about me. And I love my mother but some times I just think she's psychotic and things can blow up in a second between us. We still value each others support but I'm aware that at times she can be proud of my abilities and good points and at other times she can resent me for the same things.

I could never answer that question because I have strong relationships with my mum, dad and brother, but they're all very very different. With my dad, I'm always comfortable and we seem to understand each other without talking, but that's the thing, be don't talk a lot about really personal stuff. That's what I do with my mum. And my brother - it's difficult because he always tells me he misses me, but when I'm there, he's sometimes being an ass(jokingly, but I don't like that). See, I still wouldn't say that my bond with my mum is stronger than my bond with brother because it's on another level.

Ok this iPhone screen is pissing me off, I meant to click mother/son.  I choose this based off my brother and my mom relationship. But personally I think it depends on who raised you up the most. My mom and dad never married and my mom raised us since we lived with her. So I have a stronger bond with my mom myself. I have half siblings who don't live with me and I have a half brother who lives with me from my mom side.. So most likey I have a stronger bond with my brother who lives with me beacayse we were raised together. I actually hate the term half sibling...

Either B or D, at least in general terms. I think IF a dad can form a bond with his children, it can be very strong. But that's an "if". In general, dads seem to be more business like with their kids and that's not very bond-y. Mothers are more nurturing, caring, etc. So I'd assume the bond would seem stronger.

Now between sons and daughters? I suppose that just depends on the person. But from what I gather, girls tend to argue with their moms more. Though that doesn't necessarily mean the bond is weaker. In fact, it could STRENGTHEN the bond. ...but I'll vote B.

Whatever is the most genuine. Love is love. At the end of the day, I don't think there is a "better" bond you can have with someone. Yeah, experiences and the sh*t you go through, has an impact of how close you can grow with someone, but in a general sense there's no better pair

I think it depends on so many circumstances, such as how they grew up and if the mother/father were even their to begin with. However, I think a mother/daughter relationship seems to be strongest because in my opinion guys aren't as open, emotionally, to their parents as girls are so the emotional bond isn't really there with guys.

It just really depends for different people. In MY opinion, I think bonds with father are the least common, but not rare. Not saying that every one hates/dislike their father. From my experience I usually hear people say that they are closer to their mothers or siblings. Plus look at mother's day versus father day. MD gets more hype than FD. The main time I hear people saying they are close to their father is when it's their grandfather.

There's no definitive answer. All families are different. Two family members might have a strong bond in one family, whilst in the other they're being abused by the older member. In my family, I think by bond with my father is the strongest, but that's certainly not the case in every or even most families.

It depends on the individuals and the experiences they go through, really.  For you, it is mother/son.  For me personally, it is mother/daughter.  Also, some of my cousins.  For my best friend, it's father/daughter.  For some of my other friends, it's sister/sister.   I don't think there is any one right answer to this.

It's such a complex relationship that can't be summed up by gender pairings alone.  It depends on the people themselves, and the experiences they share. It could be any of them.

Son/cat

My cat is the coolest. We chat and play tag together. I can be myself around him without any judgments and I can tell him my hopes and dreams and he always supports me and knows that I can do it.

I would agree that the mother/son bond is probably the strongest emotional bond. However, I would also argue that the mother/daughter and father/son bonds have greater impact on who we are.

Father/daughter in my experience. He is so laid back and lenient. I can have a laugh with him, our interests match and he's more a friend than a father.
