How long does puppy love last?

How long would you say "puppy love" lasts? My boyfriend & I have been together for 3 months.. I'm just wondering..

We're always texting, all day everyday, except for school. I mean.. I can go without texting him a day ..

Puppy love is nothing more than infatuation. It can last a few months in my experience, maybe more. You'll know it's true love when you have a powerful, overwhelming need to make the other person happy. And you have a certain knowledge that if he were to leave, it would affect you permanently.
