The Main Thing I Learned This Season - a Christian Post

What this says to me is that those who were hired first received more in glory and riches and honour while those who were hired last received only salvation but both gained the same wisdom, the same love and the same God

The fact those who were hired last were paid first means God is a God of mercy and not a God of compensation and God wants to eliminate competition in his kingdom so the glory will go all to God and not to the servants who serve him except that they glory in God.

I realized I had a competitive instinct that was keeping me from God. Meaning I wanted to grow faster - mature faster - become more power and greater and more influential so I could gain status when it was never God's intention to exalt me over others or to exalt others over me - God wanted me to worship Him with all my free time and God wanted me to love and respect my neighbour - it is inconsequential to God whether I'm the president of America or whether I live a quiet life as a janitor at a hospital. God's intention is to make me valuable through love and worship - not through my social dominance in the world.

I bought a ton of books thinking it would make me smarter but I did not even have time to read them because I was so busy worshiping and praying and trying to get close to God.

If God wanted us to compete - he would have made our days 72 hours long and not 12 hours long and 12 hours short.

Its just like when Jesus said that unless you are willing to accept the low and humble position of a child - you cannot go to heaven or enter the kingdom of God - children don't care if they are not praised for their intelligence or social status or professional or academic achievement
