I’ve also give multiple meanings for light such as
Acceptance / Forgiveness / Thanksgiving / Glory
Now I give you a simplified version that I think encapsulates the terms they are put next to in Matthew
To be the salt of the earth is to be a cleaner of the heart
To be the light of the world is to be a blessed of the social system in which we are entrenched
You clean the heart with knowledge and wisdom and worship and work and prayer and experience
You bless the world with holiness and forgiveness and kindness and grace and reception and honour and gratitude
That is how you become the salt of the earth // The intercessor of the heart
Or the light of the world // The blessers of society
