How to be as essential as salt - A Christian discussion

I mentioned previously I came up with 40 symbolic uses for salt. Today I will add two more!

1. It is a symbol for usefulness.

A useful Christian does things to benefit himself and his family and his world. He isn’t concerned purely with his own fun and entertainment and quality of life but seeks to enhance the quality of life that others have and the to bring happiness and joy to the God he is serving and upholding and revering. Salt is a necessary nutrition that tantalizes the inner sensibilities so a useful Christian is not useful in purely the physical or material sense but also the psychological and social sense, he protects his health and the health of others.

2. It is a symbol for acknowledgement.

In the same way that salt disappears when the mouth experiences it, so acknowledgement involves the ability to change according to the environment and to sacrifice oneself for a greater goal or purpose and as salt is necessary for survival so acknowledgement is necessary for help but acknowledgement is not always a positive thing - while acknowledging God’s Power is good, acknowledging the power of your enemies and opponents is unpleasant and unpromising which is why in scripture, salt has both positive and negative meanings and involves both honour and dishonour and both safety and danger. So if you want to be the salt of the earth you must seek to be somebody who acknowledges spiritual truths and things and ideas and groups and emotions and acts and deeds and causes and people and realities and dangers.
