Why I do not believe in Dream Boards - Bible Talk

For those of you who do not know, a dream board is a visual or textual collection of things you want in your ideal life, it’s created to motivate you to work at your goals and to remember you have a purpose when you face setback that makes you weary or temptation that makes you question your purpose in life and whether your goals are worthwhile. Here are the reasons I do not support a dream board

1. You might not know what you are asking for. I remember liking a guy who rejected me and learning later he was a psychopath. I remember getting rejected by another guy and learning 6 years later he was a liar and I remember chasing another guy very very hard, only to learn his personality was fake and he had almost no good qualities, a dream board does not know the facts, so better to let God tell you want you want, instead of you telling God what you want.

2. Your goals might change along the way. I remember wanting to marry a specific person, wanting to own a bunch of pets, and wanting to be friends with successful people but I later learned a lot of the rich people I knew were snobs, the guy I liked might not be pure in heart, and pets would poop and scratch and smell and get sick and require a lot of maintenance work so that made those three goals not a part of my life.

3. Having role models is more effective than having lifestyle photo models, with a human role model, you can learn wisdom, social skills, knowledge, professional skills, practical skills, fitness skills, communication skills, philanthropy skills, coping skills, optimism skills and organization skills but with a lifestyle photo, you will only learn what you want, now what you have to do to get it, and you may lose many useful experiences and connections in your quest for success because you started with things and not with people.
