What Jesus taught about correcting others

On average I block at least 6 Christians a year for telling me my views are wrong and I’m not allowed to think the way that I do, Jesus said in the bible, to worry about your own ignorance instead of trying to correct the ignorance of others, I’ve also had many Christians treat me like I’m the devil because I operated differently than them in social settings and expressed my faith in a different form than how they did, like I was once kicked out of a prayer group for asking for help because I had asked for their assistance without first giving them a reason to respect and care about me, and the prayer leaders continued to spread the lie I was a lazy bum who always asked people to feel sorry for me, I had over 12 health problems the year I got accepted into the best school in the country but was still mocked by them for being a lazy bum because it never occurred to me to tell them what I had been through. Then the leader realized his mistake but refused to acknowledge it because he was worried it would affect his career as a Christian Gospel Artist.

I completely understand you. The Bible says to teach his ways and let people know if they're doing something wrong (if they never knew). But I 100% agree. I forgot the verse, but Jesus said that before you pull the speck out of someone's eyes, you should pull it out of yours first. Which means before you start picking at someone of their sins, you should make sure you have done so for yourself first.

You could also site the example of the woman brought before him for committing adultery (and no one can tell me to this day where the guy was) and quoted the law of Moses that said to kill her (by stoning) and replied "let the one among you who is without sin cast the first stone." No one could.

Oh yeah!! I forgot about that one. It's so true! This is exactly why I'm not a big fan of churches and other groups because they all think it's okay judge and pick at other people's sins, before looking at their own!

Exactly, when I was younger I was taught a lot in churches, as I got older me and my dad kind went less than mom. I still remember what I learned but know enough to only judge myself and accept others for who they are.

Yup. I have consistently found Christians to be (in general) the most utterly obnoxious group of people around. And the most prone to correcting others and interfering in affairs which are none of their business (hello, door-knocking evangelists!). Of course, not all of them are this way. I've known some lovely Christians personally - and some of the Christian mystics and scholars are extraordinarily brilliant. But in general, it seems the vast majority of Christians seem to love moralizing - and seem very light on capacity to recognize their own hypocrisy. Such as correcting others when Jesus taught not to do that.

So which applies to you?
The pull out the mote in your own eye first parable? Are people with motes trying to help you by telling you about your splinter?
Or are you blind leading the blind or being led by the blind? She they leave you alone because you are blind and they should just let you fall into the ditch?

I personally think most Christians views are wrong. But we are all at didn't levels of awareness and faith. Like people think praying is getting down on your knees and saying words. That's not prayer. But it is okay because God will accept and work with whatever you level of awareness and faith is. But we are all trying to become more aware and to get to Christ Conscious which is the savior the Bible speaks of.

Whatever the case I'd rather believe in God and be ignorant than be ignorant and don't believe in God at all. I have no doubt God is real. And for a long time I didn't know for sure. I have 110% conviction and it is amazing. It really is. But yes I do hate when religious people say, "God wants me to be poor" Like no. God doesn't. God loves you and is ALWAYS for creation NOT diSINtegration. God is for expansion and fuller expression which comes through YOU. I wish Jesus could come back in physical form and help us all get a better awareness.

Is it possible, there exists more than one interpretation out there?
Is it also possible, that not all interpretations are equal or true?
If one is ignorant, did Jesus then tell you to ignore or block, those who try to help you understand?

I get where you are coming from when you say that Jesus preaches about correcting your own mistakes first, but Jesus never said someone had to be sinless first before correcting another Christian. How that group acted was wrong, but it is not wrong for a Christian to point out when another Christian is missing the point.

The second thing. The bible says he's unattractive look it up. Tbe rest is obvious. Besides, the bible is riddled with contradictions and many are put down to convoluted additions which bring on the curse of Revelation 22-18-19, to say nothing of those that are claimed by apologists as straight up copying errors.
