Three Sources of Poverty for Christians

There are three things some Christians do to keep themselves poor. They are:

1 - Bearing false witness. Pretending to be more righteous or more hard working or more pious or more loving or more selfless than you are.

2 - Snobbishness. Refusing to associate with others you consider to be lower in status than yourself, exalting yourself above others and thinking you are superior and too good for their company. Pontificating your ideas towards others in a way that suggests you believe you are their teacher or master.

3 - Selfishness. Never willing to do things for other people unless it benefits you in some way, not willing to help people with their math homework or pray for them or listen to their problems or give them rides or socialize with them when they are lonely. Not willing to do anything unless it changes your bottom line.

So, yes... those would certainly restrict God's blessing on those folks. Of course, generally speaking, all forms of sinfulness left unchecked dies the same thing.

Yes all I would agree with. I also think temptation as people may be more tempted to buy a new car over donating to people

We should just be a decent human being and not intentionally hurt others. I dont think its too difficult.

None of these have to do with poverty not Christianity, the whole preface of the New Testament is to be kind to people, don’t judge them and don’t be an asshole. It’s not that difficult.

I agree with all those but sin is the issue. Living in harmony with the lord is the only way to get wealthy and remain wealthy. Many, that do not practice religion, do this unknowingly. Different degrees of harmony of course.

So you are just ignoring that Christians are the main source of charity all over the world then for centuries?

When Jesus was on earth, he could have preached about anything he wanted and at least half his time was spent rebuking the people who served God so there is nothing wrong with pointing out issues that affect most churches.

I’ve met people in churches and bible studies who do these things and mostly all of them are in poverty.

All of the commandments can be summed up in Love God and Love people. God is not a vengeful God, It is the persons sin that separates them from God and his blessings.
