My understanding of the daily bread in Matthew 6

The bible says to pray that God will give you your daily bread.

My understanding of that is to ask God for foundations, pillars, needs, and important concerns, and not use God to get diamonds and pearls and yachts.

I have dreams of living by a beach in Hawaii, opening an Alpaca farm in Kitchener, visiting gardens in Toronto and Pennsylvania, but what I realize is, God does not want you to absorb so much from the world that there is nothing left for others to satisfy their needs.

If God gives me enough to buy a MacBook, a book shelf, and some food, than I have to accept that this is what God has agreed to give me.

God will always give us what we need and when we need it. But God also gave us free will. With that we can sit back and watch a lot of tv or we can work hard and better our lives. The important thing to remember is when we are doing well to help those less fortunate.

i disagree, you can try for more by earning money at jobs. if you want alpaca farm, that is "not nothing left for others" the world is big.

To me it means exactly what it says - to have food on the table to see me through the next day, nothing more nor less.

When you ask God for your daily bread it means pray that everyday you have a meal.
