One of the mysteries of the Christian life is why God didn’t destroy Satan immediately after Satan sinned. We know that God will one day defeat Satan by throwing him into the Lake of Fire where he will be tortured day and night forever (Revelation 20:10), but sometimes we wonder why God has not destroyed Satan already. Perhaps we will never know God’s exact reasoning, but we do know certain things about His nature.
First, we know God is absolutely sovereign over all creation, and this includes Satan. We also know that God has planned everything from the beginning of time to the end. Nothing can thwart His plans, and things are proceeding exactly on His schedule. “The LORD of hosts has sworn: ‘As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand’” (Isaiah 14:24).
Second, “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). Whatever God has planned for Satan, that plan will be the best one possible. God’s perfect wrath and justice will be satisfied, and His perfect righteousness will be glorified. Those who love Him and who wait for His plan to be fulfilled will be thrilled to be part of that plan and will praise and glorify Him as they see it unfold.
Third, we know that to question God’s plan and its timing is to question God Himself, His judgment, His character and His very nature. It is not wise to question His right to do exactly as He pleases. The psalmist tells us, “As for God, His way is perfect” (Psalm 18:30). As He reminds us, “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ says the LORD. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts’” (Isaiah 55:8-9).
So while we will never understand His reasoning, our responsibility to God is to obey and trust Him, and to submit to His will, whether we understand it or not. The Christian vision of God is wrong, that of the ancients - Greek and Roman - correct. God is not loving and just, but arbitrary and capricious. Satan merely then serves His moods.
The seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent. This foresaw the virgin birth and accomplishment of Jesus Christ life. God is going to put Satan in the Lake of Fire for all eternity, but this is on God's time table. Love is the fullest act of Free Will, right now until the harvest the Wheat is being grown to be safely separated from the tares at harvest. Because we can only learn, grow, and become better and stronger through experiencing opposition. Just like lifting weights to build muscle. (Stupid analogy I know, but still you get the point). This life is a test. In everything there is opposition - just look at the world we live in, or the very laws of nature. Day and night. Up and down. Joy and sadness. Hatred and love. War and peace (great novel too 😉). It’s important as well that we all are given the freedom to choose. Otherwise we could all just be forced to obey God but we’d never grow or learn anything. Satan is necessary as he is that opposition.

I don't believe i a supreme evil being. Humans already commit evil through free moral agency on their own, so there needs to be no explanation of human evil by using a devil to explain it. In a way, He's already defeated! He's been denied His power to use Free Will. Anything He does, He must first receive Permission from God Himself! Satan doesn't even exist in the first place. We don't need a supreme evil spirit or fallen angel to explain human evil. Human evil exists because of free moral agency and it so happens humans are just that evil in and of themselves.

Also, even if Satan did exist, maybe God is giving Satan a chance to repent, the same way God gives everyone else a chance to repent... but again, I don't believe Satan exists because there is no good reason to believe satan exists.
I know "evil spirits" exists because I've seen and experienced them before, but that doesn't mean any alleged "Fallen Angel" controls all evil int eh Universe... in order to do that, Satan would need to be Omnipotent and Omniscient, which is blasphemy. So again there is no Satan.
A LOT of innocent people throughout history were murdered by religious fanatics having been blamed for witchcraft or demon possession, when they did no wrong whatsoever. During the Dark Ages all the way up to the Renaissance you could be accused of demon possession or witchcraft because of a bad weather outbreak or a famine or plague happened, and if the majority of people though you were to blame, they'd burn you at the stake for it, even if you had nothing whatsoever to do with what went wrong. And Christians and Jews did more false accusations of witchcraft and demon possession than anyone else or maybe even everyone else combined.
If you were born with a birth defect, such as extra limbs or a prehensile tail or even extra toes or fingers or webbed feet, etc, you could be killed for witchcraft. If you had a twin, you could be killed for witchcraft. If you caught the plague and survived the plague, you could be killed for witchcraft.
So that is one key reason why God told me, "Christianity has done more harm than good in the past thousand years."
In one case, in the 14th century when the Little Ice Age started, the Catholic church sent exorcists to "cast the devil" out of the advancing glaciers in Europe, which obviously didn't work. But they thought the devil controlled the weather, even though the Bible says in multiple locations that GOD controls the weather. Evil Spirits do not have "creative power" only God has creative power, so evil spirits do not control the weather and evil spirits do not control disease... and if hypocrite christians and jews had read the Old Testament ONE time they would know that.

Satan and God are both powerful but then there is free-will to do whatever you want. Just like the law creates the do's and dont's but it is up to the individuals of society to make the right or wrong decision. If you commit a crime obviously you'll be put in jail but also you have the right to ask for a lawyer to protect you when faced in court. Same thing with God. God is aware that everyone does not believe in him so that alone would make it impossible to destroy Satan because Satan has people on his team. Satan wants evil and those who continue to do evil are doing the work Satan wants to see in this crazy world. If everyone were angels then there wouldn't be hell nor Satan. If Satan is aware that no one wants to do dirty deeds then eventually he'll be destroyed from not receiving any gratification from evil.
As a being created by God, Satan is ultimately under God's control. God has his purposes and plans for Satan. It says Satan entered Judas, who betrayed Jesus, who died as the payment for sins. God is in control of it all.
Another thing, Satan is not in charge (a jailer) in Hell. He is just another created being that is punished. He will be bound for 1000 years and then thrown in the lake of fire.
Without Satan there is no possibility for true love. Satan allows us to have free will to make the choice to love God from our hearts not just because love is the only default emotion.. without Satan, genuine love and kindness would not exist. We would be robotic creatures.

Satan isn't a name, it's a title. It means something similar to "accuser" or "adversary." Before Lucifer was invented in later texts, the original Hebrew bible referred to multiple demons and humans as Satan. They were later combined into one being. In short, he's just a character in a story.

Well if there are such things, then obviously satan was made of god (not only by god, but of god). Why would he destroy something he chose to become. So the better question is why did he choose to create satan? Because god can do whatever he likes and there is no one else but god to judge or suffer the consequences.

It would crumble the balance of the universe as we know it right now. To truly destroy Satan, God would have to also destroy all evil in the world and to do that, He'd have to get rid of the people who are even a tiny bit bad, but still have good in their heart. That would either plunge our world into chaos or perhaps even drive good people to turn on God and join Satan, out of spite or feel betrayed.

It would be too easy. Satan has had many names throughout the millennia, like Pan, Zeus, Nimrod, Gilgamesh. Read the book the god of 1,001 names. Satan is used by Jesus in order to fulfill his plan on the Earth.
Because God is believed to be all good, not all powerful. And if God is all good, killing (destroying) isn't a solution.
God is both, all good and all powerful and yes God properly knows how to kill
