Homosexuality in and of itself is not a sin. It's not a choice to be homosexual. However, it is a choice to be overindulgent, moral-less, and depraved. So being homosexual doesn't make you a sinner but in reality a lot of homosexuals are sinners.

One of my closest friends has two mums and they are amazing parents and their daughter is over a archiver in school and has a completely clean life style. I don't think the sexuality of the people in the family matters there are plenty of disfunctional straight families out there. Especially religious ones. People who chop up there own children and put them in a suitcase in the middle of the road because their religion says homosexuality is sinful doesn't make a family disfunctional or has anything to do with mental illness but loving someone the same gender as you does?
And that example that i just used is a very common occurrence in my country.
