+1 yI've seen just as many Christians pissing on their own religion and defiling their very own beliefs on how people should act and being massive hypocrites
Fact is there's a lot of a****** Christians just like there's a whole bunch of a****** atheists and there's a whole bunch of a****** other s*** and Christians aren't the only Target
I have been threatened with hellfire within the past week like 4 or 5 times now just on this app alone for simply disagreeing with the Bible not hating on the Bible not saying anything horrible about the Bible just disagreeing with it and then getting earful
I'm not saying you're doing this that would be ignorant of me I don't even know who you are but there are a lot of Christians on this community who are bad people who just use God as a sort of explanation glue but then also take none of the Christian values to heart01 Reply- +1 y
Basically there's just a bunch of assholes and you're seeing one side of a larger story

+1 yThat's actually true because I literally just posted a question about how tourists always get ripped off in Muslim countries, and I literally only just asked if utilizing dirty business tactics to make yourself and your family wealthy is condoned in the Quran, and I had the question removed for hate speech?
How is that hate speech? All I did is ask a question.
I've noticed this is mainly an issue when you criticize Islam. It's like Muslims are a protected species. If you want to know what I really think, I think certain groups of people have done an excellent job of brainwashing society into believing their the victims, as well as through playing the race card and even threatening violence.
You saw what happened after Macron's comments. And even hard man Putin told Russians to stop criticizing Islam, because he doesn't want any terror attacks.
I've had Muslims tell me that Christians lost their self respect by allowing gay marriage and poking fun at Jesus. And they genuinely feel they need to be violent to defend their honor. They always find justification for their behavior.
So to answer your question in simple terms, people are brainwashed and scared.12 Reply- +1 y
Brainwashed and scared - unfortunately, I have to agree. I don't consider myself to be particularly religious, but the way Christ is mocked and made fun of in the West is something that, to me, is really bizarre. No other religious figure receives the same treatment, and on the rare occasion it happens (ex. cartoons of Mohammed), there is always very vocal (and condoned and promoted) outrage.
- +1 y
I agree. Honestly, I think all the corruption and hypocrisy from church officials is making it difficult to take the religion seriously, anymore, especially Catholicism.
Though these things happen in many religions, but I'm not sure any religion has seen so much reform as the Christian church. So I do kind of agree with the Muslims that they have lost their self-respect and morals.
So it's not bizarre to me that it's being mocked, but it is bizarre that other religions aren't recieving the same treatment. Islam a little, but as soon as we do, they turn violent. And Jews as a people also get shot on a lot. So basically the Abrahamic religions. I think maybe because people don't know enough about eastern religions, or their negative aspects don't get the same kind of attention that Abrahamic religions do.
Like you never hear about Hindu cow vigilantes. But also, Hindu gods are viewed in the West as superhero like, and Westerners love Superhero stuff.
"cursed is every man who hangs on a tree."
Jesus of Nazareth was a false prophet who died for being caught in the lie of claiming to be "God in the Flesh" on several occasions, and demanding men and women give him their entire life savings (not mentioned in the NT but once or twice) or go to Hell.01 Reply- +1 y
I agree that he was a false prophet, but the Roman practice of crucifixion didn't involve hanging people on trees. On more than one occasion in the Gospels he clearly states that the generation that is standing before him shall not pass until all that he prophesied would come to pass, and yet here we are 2,000 years later and still waiting. Unless, of course, all that he did predict actually came true, but due to the obtuse language he would always use, we just missed it (ex. many say that he foretold the destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem in AD 70, which really did occur).
I disagree. All religions are open to be mocked. Especially Islam.
In fact, nothing in this world is too taboo to joke about or mock.
If you can't handle the banter, get off the internet. Cause it used to be way MORE offensive before they started making this gay, hugbox, hyper-PC, sanitized version of the internet from 2015 to today where jokes and "offending" thin-skinned pussies aren't allowed.
As far as "Jesus getting a happy ending," I'm sure I've seen way more edgy humor on Family Guy. If Jesus was real, then he'd only be human (like) after all. And if so, then he'd have human urges and desires as any man would. Unless you're implying Jesus would be dickless. Wouldn't that be worse? Or, what if Jesus had a small dick? That'd be bad too, right? It's Jesus; he'd HAVE to be hung like a horse, wouldn't he? At least eight inches. (No Homo.)012 Reply- +1 y
I disagree. NO religion should be mocked. Mockery is demeaning, insulting and offensive to virtually everyone because it is disrespectful. I don't care what you believe to be true. I will disagree with you, but never mock, even if you tell me you're a flat-earther who believes that space isn't real and that we're all just living within some kind of computer simulation. The use of mockery demonstrates that you simply do not care about the other person, that you think of him or her as being inferior and not worthy of consideration.
- +1 y
😂😂😂😂 making fun of islam? Muslims are not fags like Westerners. Go ask Charlie Hebdo in case you don't believe me.
- +1 y
"If you can't handle the banter, get off the internet", you say.
I've got a better idea. How about we stop treating each other like shit online. How about we stop the insults, foul language and bullying (which has been proven to be extremely harmful, many times over). How about we start acting like ADULTS for a change when we flick on our computers. And whether or not you think that Jesus was real is entirely beside the point. Many people, including the vast majority of historians and biblical scholars, believe he was. So was Muhammad and the Buddha. People look to these historical characters for inspiration and guidance, and when you insult them you insult someone they care about. How would you like it if I did the same to you?

@Snsl153
If you don't believe anything should be mocked, then you also don't believe in comedy, humor, or free speech, either. I prefer all three of those things over being someone's emotional mommy and daddy because their feelings are dependent on strangers kissing their behinds and not "offending" them with any hypothetical words or conversations they may not like. - +1 y
Obviously, no, precisely that makes us superior to Western fags, Muslims do what we want, and if someone disrespects us, we cut off their heads, ask at the Pulse nightclub in case you don't believe me.

@Snsl153
As an adult, it is not the world's responsibility to kiss your ass. Adults are independent and free-thinking. You are LITERALLY asking to be treated like a child, but with the respect of an adult. No. It is not others jobs to kiss your ass and capitulate to your feelings. Intentionally mocking someone, is one thing. Which people still have the right to do. But you are asking others to not say anything that might HYPOTHETICALLY offend you or someone else out there. Sorry, but its not society's job to kiss your ass for you. You can always move to China or North Korea if free speech is too offensive for you.
The reason we appreciate niceness and respect in free society, is because it is not an obligation. If someone is nice to you, it's because they CHOSE to be nice to you. They may get nothing out of it, but they chose to do it anyway. That is what makes it valuable. If people were forced to not say anything, do anything, or believe anything someone might think is "offensive," then you'd get Communism at worst, and Cancel Culture, at best. All because an ADULT can handle some fucking words on the internet.
You can either be an independent adult who's emotions are reliant on strangers kissing their ass. Or you can be a child who needs to be shielded and protected from the real world like it's Communist China. But you don't get both. Pick one. - +1 y
@snsl153
"How would you like it if I did the same to you?"
People do the same shit to me every fucking day. You don't see me crying about it, do you? If someone gets way too out of line, there's the block button. And you can use it on me too, if you don't like me not kissing your behind and simping to you. But blocking someone isn't censoring them or taking away their free speech.

@TheLastRhodesian
Yeah, and that's exactly WHY we mock Islam.
You also can't whine about "progressives" while also implying no one should mock what is literally the most backwards, regressive ideology on planet Earth, Islam. Islam and woke culture are pretty much the exact same thing. They're both cults that like hurting people. - +1 y
I was clear, the difference between Westerners and Muslims is that anyone makes fun of Westerners without consequence, while if any public figure or institution, like Charlie Hebdo, makes fun of Islam, we will kill them. On progressivism, progressivism mainstresm mocks Christianity, not Islam, because Democrats want immigrant votes. And about the ideology of Islam, it is precisely that ideology that makes us superior, we prohibit homosexuality, we marry adolescent women, literally, we do whatever we want, while Westerners live complaining that we hit women, we we keep doing and nothing stops us. Because we are not afraid of the West.
- +1 y
Exactly, and we will continue to be, even if the West complains.

10 Reply401 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. Whoever told you this lied to you. Christianity has a long history of desperately claiming to be the victim of anything it can get people to believe. And yet it remains the most powerful religion in the West, by far.
08 Reply- +1 y
Yeah, no one tells anyone anything anymore. They just put you in a position to see only the things they need you to see to come to the conclusions they need you to come to. I still consider that "telling," though. Through truly objective or impartial observations you'd discover that Christians have pretty much all of the power in the West. And it is only okay to belittle Christians to the extent it is okay to belittle anyone in power..
- +1 y
Look, don't lecture me mister. No one told me that this was the case, or that I had to believe it because it must be true because they'd never lie to me, or anything else of that nature. I know what's going on around me, I'm not oblivious to the reality of the world in 2022. The persecution of Christians is REAL, and is occurring NOW all over the globe, from North Korea to Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia, and all points in between.
external-content.duckduckgo.com/.../ - +1 y
And another thing - Christians in power? Really? Where? The United States? Hardly! Do you actually believe that the politicians who belong to either the Republican Party or the Democratic Party are in any way, shape or form actually Christian? They may SAY they are, but I can tell you they're not. At all.
And as for other "powerful" groups like the media, for example. Hah! Look at Hollywood. It's utterly degenerate. Netflix, Google, Twitter - they're all ANTI-Christian. - +1 y
Those entities are not anti Christian. I can only really speak for the US but all of our presidents have been Christian. It doesn't matter if you don't think they are real Christians. They say they are and that is the only criteria when it comes down to it. If "Christ like" was the standard there would only have ever been one Christian, and he was nailed to a cross.
- +1 y
The point about those countries not being in the West - yes, correct, most of them are not. However, I was here responding to your particular assertion that "Christianity has a long history of desperately claiming to be the victim of anything it can get people to believe", which is a statement that simply isn't true.
That's not to say that there haven't been people who proclaimed themselves to be Christians who did nasty things. People can be, and are, bad for reasons that go well beyond whatever religion they may claim to practice. - +1 y
Oh, it is definitely a statement that is true. Christians run half the world and yet still have the majority of the countries they run convinced that Christians are victims in those countries. Like not being allowed to say merry Christmas. Everyone is definitely allowed to say merry Christmas. But because a few random stores said "let's say happy holidays because a lot of our customers are jewish" Christians acted like they were threatened with death if they, themselves, say merry Christmas.
But the fake victimhood got people motivated to vote and give money to the church, so mission accomplished I guess..
I agree with you and there are a lot of non religious and non Christians on here. In the end they will come to believe...
00 Reply3.8K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. It's the other way round, kiddo. Christianity from the crusades, witch burning to paedophile priests is now so much of a joke that it cannot seriously be considered a religion any more.
