Thousands of people have died to keep their faith. And yet, till this day, people still hate on Christian’s. Why do they care so much if they don’t even believe in it in the first place? I even recently met a girl who was so interested in me. She initiated the conversation and everything. Only to ghost me once I talk about how religious I am. Like if only she actually knew me…. I think it’s a good thing it didn’t workout. Because I would die for my faith. But I just think it’s sad that people who talk about Christianity being hateful are the same people who hate on Christian’s. Talk about hypocrisy.
There are people that are against every religion that’s out there , so just because we believe in something , it doesn’t mean everyone else will believe the same. So only you can choose what you choose to believe in. We can’t force anyone to believe in what we choose to believe in , the only time I will speak of my religion , is if someone asks me questions about it , whether they want to believe it or not believe it , that’s clearly up to them. No one should be forcing their religion on to anyone. I consider myself a Christian, because I choose to believe in it , am I a full blown Christian? Probably not , there is still some work on my part to become full Christianity , but I choose to believe in it , to me it’s easier to understand compare to Catholic religion , which my family claimed to be Catholic when I was growing up , which at the time , it was hard for me to understand it and had no clue what the preacher was saying , all I knew was I had to kneel down then stand back up , kneel down and stand back up lol. As I got older I chose Christianity instead , because it was easier to grasp and understand what was being preached. But it’s apparently the same religion , just preached differently. So I joke and say Christianity is the book for Dummies lol so religion to me is pretty much up to you on what you choose to believe in.

1 yThe Christians themselves turned people away from Christianity. The evangelical types who push religion on people are super annoying. They also happen to be the most visible, because they make themselves visible.
If a girl walked when she found out you were religious, it's either because she thought you were a wacko, or because she knows that you would never accept her not being religious. You might say you are OK with it, but deep inside you would never truly accept her.
That's the reason I would NEVER date someone who was religious. I don't care if they are religious, as long as they are not fanatics, they keep it to themselves, and they don't try to push it on me. But I know they would never truly accept me. They would always wish that I was Christian.
On top of that Christians get involved in politics. Religion has NO PLACE in politics.Christians say all kinds of things that totally go against science and any kind of rational thought. They use circular arguments that make no sense.
Christians do it to themselves. That's especially true of the most visible Christians. Don't blame others for hating on Christians. Blame the Christians for it.32 Reply- 1 y

1 yI don't believe you would die for your religious beliefs because you insult God's teachings by trying to humiliate and shame a girl online for rejecting you over your religious beliefs. You want an ego boost, and you are trying to get sympathy at the expense if somebody else's social inclusion, social reputation and community social standing, and you are trying to convey moral failure with the girl who rejected you while claiming you appreciate her and value a romantic relationship with her. You are either a horrible boyfriend who dates girls you don't respect and still choose to socially humiliate in any abbreviated and possible capacity online, or you lied when you said you would die for your Christian values and might not be a Christian at all.

1 yIf you genuinely believe the church as it stands now is universally following the forgiving and loving rhetoric of Christ as religious-backed laws are pushed into politics specifically to bar people from living the lives they want, becoming the loudest, most hateful voice in the west, you are blind. The church as an institution is widely regarded as straying from the path of god in the name of personal power, and that tends to leave a bad taste in people’s mouths when you say you’re a part of that institution, regardless of whether or not you personally follow that doctrine to the letter. You are a representative of that institution, and many people would rather avoid a place that seems to have become a safe haven for hatred and abuse.

It's just the modern medias brainwashing. The aim is to demoralize Christians. The same people will say how terrible the crusades were despite not knowing anything about them and that they were justified and a response to violence against Christians. They'll also ignore the sins of every other religion, Islam in particular, because they associate those with non white people whereas they associate Christianity with white people despite it being a religion for all people. White people are generally demonized these days. Furthermore they have a complete lack of understanding of Christianity because despite those people swearing up and down that they've DEFINITELY read the Bible, they really haven't. They don't understand that it's about forgiveness, love for people, selflessness, gratitude and that despite our sins we have already been forgiven. Those people simply choose to only see the Westbroro Baptist church and ignore everyone else despite it now being known that the WBC was basically a marketing gimmick/fake.

In other words @Rated is saying it’s all a conspiracy and nothing to do with annoying judgmental Christian assholes, themselves… or due to a lack of understanding among others, due to being confused about the buybull or getting them confused for WBC, …. yeah fucking right!! Gimme a break, nice try.
- 1 y
@Tamera952 And there are a lot more who aren't Christians who are assholes. I'd rather have a Christian as a neighbor than any politician, drug addict, rapist, etc. You get the idea. The broad path is so much easier for these people to travel.
Even more people have died trying to keep their faith, or lack of faith, when Christians try to force them to join their cult. In fact, the vast majority of the atrocities ever committed were due to Christianity/Judaism/Islam. Christians are the ones pushing their faith on everyone else, that is why no one wants to deal with them unless they are also a Christian. There is no hypocrisy, if your cult hates people and calls for their death because they are LGBT, it isn't hateful to hate your cult and its beliefs, because your cult and its beliefs are evil. It is actually logical and essentially self-defense. Hating something that calls for you to be killed can never be hateful. I'm not part of any religions, so by default I would be part of the group they would target, so me hating them is just logical. Of course I'm going to hate a cult that wants to take all my rights and kill me.
I agree with the girl, I would never date someone that is part of those three religions.

The 13 crusades, the British witch trials, the Salem witch trials, the Spanish inquisition, the satanic panic, Christians forcing indigenous people on every continent to join their cult (otherwise the Christians steal their kids and put them in Christian schools, or just kill all the indigenous people that refuse to join), etc.
Yes, it is Christianity, Satanists didn't do that...
Atheists didn't do that...
Hindu's didn't do that...
Buddhists didn't do that...
Hell, Adolf Hitler was a young earth creationist Christian, he even bragged about it in his book, running down atheists and scientists that believe the earth is old, because "clearly god made all things..."
Can't lie to someone that actually studies history... - 1 y
Nice false corelation there. The Salem witch trials were not caused by Christianity. They were caused by people's hysteria in Salem. The crusade were a response to Islamic violence AGAINST Christians and were warranted. The converting of native peoples to Christianity is simply an attempt by Christians to teach those people of the love, charity and values taught in the Bible. It isn't done by force. That's why missionaries were unarmed despite traveling to places where natives may be hostile and attack them. And don't even try to claim that those groups you listed haven't committed mass violence. Atheists in particular. The atrocities committed by communist governments in order do eliminate religion which resulted in hundreds of millions of deaths far outweighs the crusades and Salem witch trials combined.
- 1 y
@Rated
We're the people prosecuting these women doing so based on the teachings of Buddha? What book were they using to do these trials? What religious group wrote those books used in the witch trials?
No, they really weren't the crusades were initially between the arabic peoples of the region. Christians decided to go and attack them because they didn't like that Muslims held "the holy land." Muslims then counter attacked the Christians... Don't pick a fight if you want to complain about the other fighting back...
So they killed all the natives and kidnapped their children because they were "loving," i think you could do with seeing a psychiatrist. This is why people don't like Christians, because there is no Hate like Christian "love".
Again, attacking people trying to conquer your people, is self-defense, violence against them is warranted. I don't blame the natives for fighting back, the Christians were kidnapping their children. How would you feel if I kidnapped kids in your family, took all your stuff, and they forced you to move out to some random forest at gun point? Because thats what was ultimately done to these people as a means of making them "civilized Christians".
Literally not one atrocity has even been caused by atheism, not one...
Atheists are literally proven to be the best most law abiding people anywhere. They make up 1% of the prison population, Christians make up 98% of it...
Again, you can't lie to someone that studies history...
Christians and their religion are exclusively to blame for these events, period. - 1 y
1 yNo one can convince an atheist that they are wrong. Just like some can't be convinced that Harris is bad for the country. People believe what they want to, it's human nature. But then, they crucified Jesus for telling them they could join Him in the New Jerusalem for eternity. Everyone has their own ideas of what is real and not real. Just watch You Tube for that. 😄😅

Don’t know where you think all this hate is coming from, because I think to myself, ‘why isn’t there more hate for such a divisive and abhorrent cult? …there should be more push back, to challenge their beliefs’.
But anyway, someone being religious is a big red flag for me too, and if somehow you snuck by, undetected, only to reveal later that you’re a Christian, I would have been pissed and ghosted ya too! I don’t want any part of that nonsense. No thank you. You think faith is something to to be proud of — a measure of righteousness and piety, but I think of it as a handicap, suspicious, or as someone who might be delusional, has a defect - someone who can’t think critically, and who might be mentally ill.

@DrPepper12 Why, thank you…. how kind of you to say
As a non Christian, Maybe I can help you out here. Proselytizing is the answer to your question. If Christians could accept that their religion is no more likely to be true than anybody else's and gracefully take no for an answer, people would have no problem with it. But most of you just can't let it go. You have to so performative about your certainty about something you absolutely can't prove, and you have to insist everyone else validates your belief by agreeing with you. Find a nice girl at your church, wandering out in the wider world isn't going to work for you.
10 Reply505 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. Because a some Christians are sanctimonious ass holes. They don't rely on logic to form opinions. Their minds are closed and their opinions are inflexible because they think they are following the will of some god. Therefore, they think their are righteous and infallible.
Also, many Christians feel free to be open about their beliefs but get offended when others respond with alternate points of view.
And there is the issue with Christians trying to use legal means to impose their views on others. Things like prayer in schools and at public events, Christian iconography on government property, anti-abortion legislation, and so on.
Christians pretend to be loving but they are judgmental to the point of believing that non-Christians are condemned to Hell.
How could a non-Christian put up with being married to a devout Christian? That could be a nightmare.
Would you, a Christian, be willing to marry a pious Muslim or a Jew? I didn't think so.04 Reply- 1 y
"Christians pretend to be loving but they are judgmental to the point of believing that non-Christians are condemned to Hell" . Or, maybe they are just trying to warn you of the results of your unbelief as God has commanded them to do telling them to preach the good news throughout the world. Let's say for discussion that it was true, and you were headed for hell. You had a friend who never "preached" to you because they knew how you felt. I'm pretty sure you would be cursing him for never telling you the truth, just as people will be cursing God for eternity.
- 1 y
@Daniela1982 Imagine, if you will, the sound of a thousand horror cocks rubbing against each other in a symphony of pain and pleasure. Hear the walls of hell reverberate with each stroke, as the lord of the underworld himself ravages my soul.
Smell the stench of brimstone that fills the air, as I am bound to him in eternal damnation. And as I climax, feel my soul being ripped from my body, never to be whole again.
Do you dare to witness such horrors, oh pure-hearted one? Come to me, and I shall show you the true meaning of sin, of depravity, and of eternal damnation.
For in my world, cursing is but a mere mortal's vice, and the real pleasures lie in far darker places. Are you brave enough to explore them?
You have been warned, oh holy mortal. The choice is yours, but I pray you make the right one, for the consequences of your actions will be everlasting. - 1 y

1 yBecause the church has failed its people over the years, the bigger the religion is the more removed it has become from its members, as its hierarchy becomes more engrossed in its political power and control over people, priority over their own interests rather than it members, prestige in titles and social statis, less interest in its memberships needs and concerns. I believe in God, I don't believe in big religion. Some of the worst people you meet declare themselves to be good christens but don't act as such. A good christen doesn't have to tell you they're a christen but will show you by their actions and treatment of people.

Anonymous(18-24)1 yI’ve seen not one person hate on Christianity.
I don’t know where this culture of “nobody likes my Jesus & God & Mary” 😭 sense of entitlement came from…. No one ever thinks this and I’m 100% certain other religions get blamed, persecuted more so than Christianity.Look, if you are too religious / come on strongly then that is what most people call “coming on too strong & being a ‘Bible Basher’ “.
Let’s look into an example of women unknowingly doing this: Saying all their future plans, future life goals, saying what they expect from life, saying “I love you” even if when it is just the first date… This turns people (men) off. When you put all your plans and you are “this HAS to happen” then yeahhh you lost the man. Same goes for religion. Being too religious and narrow minded, unlikely to compromise on beliefs because of strong rigidness puts people off.
Just laying it all out there. Chow. ✌️

Anonymous(30-35)1 yTo me, there is Christianity and then there’s “Western Christianity” and I believe that Western Christianity has made a bad name for true Christianity. In Western Christianity you have these buildings that are called “Churches” where people go to feel good about themselves, but where there is no true repentance from sin. In these places, the guy sitting in the pew across the aisle calls himself a Christian, yet isn’t faithful to his wife. The lady behind you might put a few dollars in the plate to help the poor, but if a homeless person wanders in, suddenly she’s uncomfortable.
So instead of a “body of Christ” you have a body of hypocrites.12 Reply- 1 y

Hardened hearts, ignorance of what Christianity actually is, non-recognition of pseudo-Christianity, the list of reasons goes on and on.
I think that many people who are against Christianity do not know what Christianity is and cite examples of the unfortunate results of pseudo-Christianity to condemn true Christianity.

1 yPersonally, it's not so much being against the religion. It's more so the people. Christians have been trying to convert me, to act like they know my religion better than I do, for my entire life.
I have Christian friends who don't do that and we get along amazingly. My Christian grandparents preach their religion and Jesus at me every time I see them, and used to go behind my parents backs with it, so I stopped going over.
It's the people, not the religion.00 Reply
1 yOpposition to Christianity, or any other religion, often stems from personal experiences, cultural differences, or disagreement with specific practices or beliefs. Some see Christianity as a system that does not reflect their ideas of freedom or progress, while others may criticise historical events or the behaviour of some church representatives. At the same time, some people may feel distanced from religion because they have more secular or scientific views of the world.
00 ReplyBecause religious people can’t just keep their beliefs to themselves. If you think abortion is murder, then WE have to too.
If being gay is a sin, then WE have to teach that in public schools - or completely ignore it.04 Reply
Asker1 yYou can do whatever you want. That is your free will. Up to you. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to do anything lol
Asker1 yIs there not murderers despite it being illegal? Are there not evil people despite everyone knowing it’s wrong? You are in control of your life. No one decides for you. Just like how early Christian were killed for their beliefs despite others oppressing them. They knew it would get them killed. But they still displayed what they believed in.
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yFear and arrogance mainly. People fear the possibility they're not in control of their own lives. Which of course every Christian knows they are. But that's a non believers mindset. Their arrogance limits them from understanding a God that has that kind of power and doesn't want to use it to subjugate people. Man like to think he's so advanced but ecclisiastes 1:9 tells us nothing ever really changes. Man in many ways has never left the caves. We as a species are still ruled be fear.

Nobody said you specifically but the overall religion itself has a way of trying to force its way into other people's lives. Look at how it is in politics alone. There are lawmakers that are trying to make decisions affecting the entire country based off of christian beliefs when church and State should always be separate.
Asker1 y@mandyfire98 I don’t even follow politics. I think all politicians are in it for themselves. I’m not them. And plenty of Christian’s are too. You are judging others without merit.
Asker1 yWhere in the Bible does it talk about doing that to others? Because you aren’t reading the same book I am. Jesus talks about loving your neighbor. If someone slaps you to turn the other cheek to them. To not hold any hate. That everyone has free will. And that children are precious to god. Anyone who hurts them are better off being hurt. And no, god ain’t a church. Jesus is not a church. His teachings are in the Bible.
Asker1 yOf course they say that. They want as much votes as possible. You think they would say so otherwise?
- 1 y
If a large amount of your religious community are trying to force their views on others and you don't agree with them doing so then it's up to your community to police itself or else you're gonna wind up with a lot of fundamentalists in that community.

I'm just telling you how non religious people feel towards the majority of Christians these days. You might be a wonderful Christian but a lot of so called Christians absolutely force their beliefs on others.
