Why do you think some girls wait til marriage and other girls choose not to wait?

For me it was a family thing before it became a religious thing, cause I was not born into a Christian family but I viewed it as the ultimate disgrace and humiliation even long before I heard about Jesus.

There are choices in life that will continue to increase those desires. If those desires are not properly dealt with, one continues to supply those desires with more ammunition.
With sin one must starve it to death, departing from everything that feeds the desire. What creates the thought or stimulates the desire? Cut it off.

In psychology, studies showed that For a man, he must refrain from x rated pictures, movies and things that stimulate his thoughts, for a woman she may have the same effect when reading romance novels. The words, sounds, and visuals of sin stimulate the desire to sin. Both genders are stimulated when watching movies with sexual activities. One must take their thoughts and actions captive. A boyfriend and a girlfriend can both make each other vulnerable with their words, actions and persuasions. When in public there are things that are against the law or may be embarrassing to do around others, so in public it is one step as a preventive measure.

For women, a study found that there is a desire for an emotional connection and in becoming one with their partner. Women feel they have a need for it for physical, emotional and material reasons. It is used to try and boost their self-esteem. To try and keep their man out of the hands of another woman, to be competitive with the other women. Women want to be desired and they often try to fulfill that by filling their partners wants. Some women just want to get married or have a baby and take too many shortcuts trying to get to the Finish Line. Others think that by having a baby, he will stay with them, however, in the long run it leads to broken families and marriages. Some men are manipulative and tell their women that they must do certain things to prove their love and loyalty. Some partners manipulate the other as a try before you buy mentality. A partner may manipulate the other by saying, we are getting married anyway, what difference does it make. When two people spend too much time together, they may also not have enough time to gather their individual thoughts as they are too busy infatuating what they want to happen in the future with the other person and be too caught up with the butterflies and living the moment being around someone who has a strong desire and love for the other. When one hears friends talk about their experience the temptation and peer pressure also become strong and often times they are not a lot of choices of friends who have the same plan to wait till marriage. Some have problems in the home, in school, with finances or at work; they try to do anything and everything to make themselves forget about their pain and sufferings in life.

Whatever goals and dreams you may have in life, God loves you and he knows all your needs. God has a plan for your life. You are so unique and there is only one of your kind, you have many talents and he is there to fulfill life’s emptiness.

In Genesis 39 Potiphar’s wife tried to make advances on Joseph, he ran out of the house so quickly that his coat was left behind. In the same way one must be ready to run from sin and have no part in it. A man or a woman needs to be ready to run from sin, it is a very strong desire that one must be ready to depart from within every means necessary.

In life, when one loves someone to the point that they want to marry the temptation can be strong since the person one ones to marry becomes a part of their daily desires and part of ones thought life, those thoughts have to be taken captive. By prayer and petition present your requests to God.

The reason people choose to wait: It is a sacred thing, a once-in-a-lifetime moment to share with only one person. A virgin is seen as pure before her husband. God desires sexual purity in body, mind and heart. The Bible emphasizes the importance of virginity because it is an act of obedience to God. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 1 Corinthiams 6:19-20 says: 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

I knew early on that if it did happen I'd feel bad about myself so I never said I'd wait cause I don't think anyone can say when this will happen right? So I said if I am having it, then it would be with someone very special to me. And he was very special to me, but the experience itself wasn't special at all. And I think that's what young people should know before any timeline, and protection of course, is that it's not the moment you become one cause you're so caught up in what it feels like and it's weird and uncomfortable like if I have sex now, it can still be weird and uncomfortable, so, the person can only help you engage in the sex but the actual sex is purely like this was designed way before you and you aren't going to be the one who changes sex forever with your love or your perfect bodies etc. It's just a natural process, and it's totally expected for it to be not how you thought it would go.

I think that those who have been raised to believe that sex makes them dirty are far more likely to wait til marriage (and therefore marry quickly and end up with worse marriages). The concept of a natural process for bonding with someone is so demonized in some homes makes it extremely difficult for that girl to form a meaningful and honest relationship with her own sexuality. It was an unfortunate reality for many women in the past, and recently we are seeing a wonderful shift toward education about sex and its risks.

Good question, I'm sure everyone has their own personal reasons, ranging from curious to no plans to ever get married so why wait for something that won't ever happen.

I was planning on my first time being when I got married, but also planning on being married at like 19 or 20 like the rest of my family. My plans got blown up when I was raped, and years of trauma and stress and finally found a nice guy who I could touch, as I had haphephobia for five years after.

When a wonderful man helped me through that, I wanted to be close to him, so much and we were going to be married. Then when I lost him, I thought no one else would want me. People were saying I was damaged goods.

I think it's for personal reasons. I am too emotional to lose it before marriage. It means a lot to me. I want the guy who deflowers me to stay with me forever.
I know girls who have had premarital sex and they regret it. I think deep inside most girls want to wait but all of them don't have the self-control to do that.
Culture can also have a huge impact. In the Western countries, virgin women get disrespected/called ugly or unwanted while in my country men seek virgins for marriage (it is one of the things I love about my culture). So the women in those countries see no point in waiting.
It is obviously harder to wait as most healthy women want sex so the ones who choose to wait do it because of their own morals and discipline.

It’s the same in my fam…. But my mother was visiting my dad in America at school and she came back to Italy she found out she was pregnant with me. My mom actually went to tell him that they should get married at the end of his school term. lol
So my mom actually went all the way to say.. hey buster… we are going to get married…. She was tired of waiting for him to ask. (They’re sort of arranged) so he agreed and mistakenly conceived me.. oops. But he went back to Italy and had a wedding…

Most women don't wait because it's not fun. It made sense when women were marrying at 15 or 16 or 17. They didn't have to abstain for very long. It makes no sense when people are marrying in their 20's. The sex drive is too strong. If a woman told me she wanted to wait, I would wonder if she had much interest in sex. She wouldn't be for me.

I was raised really strict….. I was 14 n my dad found a condom in the barn n was so mad!!!… sent me to Italy….. n my nonno, n.. nonna we’re super disappointed in me. I had to finish second yr in Sicily n I was so behind there. It was horrible. I came back junior yr.
