Of course not. This isn't Iran. We not a religious dictatorship. And the funny thing is the laws wouldn't even be made by Christians. It would be made by the folks who use Christianity to advance their political views which have nothing to do with Jesus Christ.
I live in Nigeria and I understand the nonsense laws made because state and religion aren’t separate we have two major religions Islam and Christianity and it’s a war zone because certain laws wouldn’t be supported by either. The state and religion should and must remain dependent if you want equality and no bias
The Bible is a book of great wisdom, even for non-believers. It gives us many examples of bad behavior and greed, as well as how to treat other people. It is not just a religious book. The same can be said for the Zend Avesta, the Tao Te Ching, or the Analects of Counfucius. We should use all of the wisdom ot the ages in guiding our nation. While I persomally believe in the Bible, I see wisdom in many other ancient writings.
The bible also promotes genocide, abortion to prove a women's loyalty, slavery, etc. Not to mention it describes a flat earth, has talking animals, a global flood and many MANY other nonsensical things. So why should we listen to it.
Read my reply to guy13. The bible is esoteric, used by occultists. The average idiot should stay the F away from it, rather than misinterpret it. And children are also psychologically susceptible. Some parts of it may include a pinch of secular history, but largely it's mysticism.
The separation of church and state is real and should be respected. But the morals that people learn from the Bible can be carried with them when they uphold and enact laws. It should be understood that despite be influenced by Christianity that the US is a nation where all religions are tolerated and people are not to be followers of a state religion.

This part should be American law: 1 Timothy 2:11-14 11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.
LOL :D What is there to "handle"? It's an archaic load of gibberish, a collection of texts over an approx. 1500 year span that merely demonstrates how shockingly ignorant people back then used to be. I prefer clear thinking, logic, and the scientific method to "faith". Religion is something we should have ditched thousands of years ago, when using a little reason and maths it was discovered that the Earth isn't flat.
@Iron_Man Well they apparently are not following what God teaches about the qualifications on being a Pastor/teacher. What other things are they skipping in their theology?
Which particular sect of Christianity will get to make all the laws? With so many denomination how do we choose which way men trim the corners of their beards or what fibers not to mix together into garment?
Literally according to the bible I can rape any girl I want that as long as she is not married I can have her. I have to marry her after, but who cares? Still my wife now. Otherwise her father has the right to kill her. Doesn't that sounds nice?
@Daniela1982 I know he looks like a satanist out of a heavy metal concert. But that is the idea. He his president of an American athiest group and knows the bible front to back. As well as a vast knowledge in evolution and an expert in phylogeny.
@This_Is_My_Opinion8 Well Satan knows the Bible front to back, and back again too. That doesn't mean shit unless you believe it. James 2:19 New International Version 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder (tremble in fear)
Given that the Bible is the religious text of the West’s foundational religion, there is no question of whether it “should” influence our laws. It will influence our laws, whether we want it to or not. It will either be a positive inspiration for law or law will be crafted to consciously rebel against the religion. Either way, the Bible must influence the direction of Western law.
@This_Is_My_Opinion8 that’s not my point. My point is that because it is one of the foundational aspects of Western culture, Christianity will inform its evolution either through adherence or reaction to the faith. So strictly speaking, the Bible influences American laws whether you want it to or not because America is part of the West.
Questions like these are interesting. The same people who scream in anguish over abortion restrictions, have no problem throwing people in prison for child support payments, or wishing to charge rape for two intoxicated people having consensual sex. Such a joke.
This is a prime example of LIBTARDISM 101. But it doesn't end there? This is what the fuck pisses me off. You cannot have common fucking sense. Not in this day and fucking age. So, Religious, Agnostic, Atheist can't exist together? BULL SHIT!!!
The Bible should be used as a guide to establishing fundamental structures and values of equality, love, respect and authority. Constitutions should reflect qualities which could be expected. deemed necessary for peace and order, and desired in a civilized society. These guiding principles can transcend religiosity and reflect instead basic human needs and universal expectations. .

The Constitution doesn't mention God at all. Besides, there's nothing in the Bible useful for formulating the laws of a modern country. If we took our laws from the Bible, slavery would be legal and we would be stoning people to death.
@Guy__ no it isn't. Slavery is where you are owned by someone. They can beat you, drag you, rape you, do whatever. First the brainwashing you describe is very much due to people's own will. They chose to believe this or that. Slaves do not have a choice.
How about the 10 Commandments and leave it at that. We already see the result of a nation without God... it's plain ugly. We should at least keep the 10 commandments in the laws. Otherwise, we might as well get rid of all laws and make everything and anything legal. See as how people are pushing for that anyway...
I suppose you are not seeing all the stuff that is going down on the Earth today. How are we doing so far? The Bible warns that demonic forces will increase in the end times. The only thing that keeps us from annihilation is God. In the end times God will take the Holy Spirit from earth and then the shit will really hit the fan. Then you will really see what it is like without God.
Dear Asker, you don't even get your own question lol. The laws to not kill and steal, etc are legally enforceable I. e. prison or punishment to those who would do it despite. If you remove the law, we'd not all be killing and stealing rather we would eb able to legally kill and steal.
Leviticus 20:13 and 1 Corinthians 6:9 come to nine. Both describe homosexual acts as “detestable” and Leviticus 20:13 mandates the death penality. Image ine reeeing and gvelching from the queer paedophile left.
The bible also promotes genocide, abortion to prove a women's loyalty, slavery, etc. Not to mention it describes a flat earth, has talking animals, a global flood and many MANY other nonsensical things. So why should we listen to it.
Well it's not exactly that clear cut. What happens when the school board allocates taxpayer's money to reimburse them for busing school children to private schools? Do you exclude religious schools?
When you remove the laws of the Bible, what are you left with? Would love to know. 🤣

The 10 Commandments go completely contrary to the Bill of Rights... It's a book about a god who kills kids because they made fun of a guy for being bald and says wives should be forced to have an abortion if her husband suspects infidelity.

That would be cool, especially the really odd parts from the old testament.
Deut. 23:1 No man whose testicles have been crushed or whose organ has been cut off may become a member of the Assembly of God.
We will have to publicly examine the genitalia of Congress..
Then there's the part about the concubines, I guess that means legal prostitution?
Is this a real thing?

Troll.
@Snsl153 girl
@Snsl153 He is just quoting the Bible. That doesn't make someone a troll.
@Daniela1982 she can't handle the truth
Yes, I know that it's in the Bible, but you want to make this archaic piece of nonsense into law. Don't be such a clown.
I can always handle the truth. It's other people who can't.
@Snsl153 you can't handle the bible.
LOL :D What is there to "handle"? It's an archaic load of gibberish, a collection of texts over an approx. 1500 year span that merely demonstrates how shockingly ignorant people back then used to be. @Snsl153 Those verses were referring to women in a church. Women were not allowed to be pastors either. What people do today is their own business.
@Daniela1982 they can now We had one
@Iron_Man Biblically it is not allowed.
Well how come the Lutheran Church had two women pastors?
www.google.com/search
@Iron_Man Well they apparently are not following what God teaches about the qualifications on being a Pastor/teacher. What other things are they skipping in their theology?
@Daniela1982 i’m not sure we only go there twice a year im Baptist
@Iron_Man I was raised a Baptist myself.
@Daniela1982 Awesome God bless your sister

God supposedly gave Moses the commandments, but not long after ordered him to genocide an entire population.
Sure let's take the bible seriously...

That religion played a role in the development of the IS, sure it certainly did.
... of the US*
None at all. Zero.
The United States is not a Christian nation, and should not make laws based on a Christian text.
That's exactly what this meme says

Slavery is already legal, just euphemized.
@Guy__ in developed nations slavery is illegal.
Nope, just euphemised. Mind control is slavery.
@Guy__ no it isn't. Slavery is where you are owned by someone. They can beat you, drag you, rape you, do whatever.

I think don't don't kill and don't steal are pretty good ideas. What percentage of The Bible would that equate to? 0.00000023 or thereabouts?
If it wasn’t for the Bible we’d all be killing and stealing, I guess they’re saying.
I suppose you are not seeing all the stuff that is going down on the Earth today. How are we doing so far? The Bible warns that demonic forces will increase in the end times. None.
How much of Alice In Wonderland or The Wizard Of Oz be used as part of it? At least we've had a glimpse of that in the movie, "Zardoz".
I've actually seen that film. It was really weird.
@Snsl153 Yep, it is. Basically, they became a society that worshiped the gun as a god.
The 1st Amendment essentially separates ANY religion from the STATE.
No fairytale book should dictate anything when Congress makes laws.
It's right there in black and white for any dummy to understand in the first amendment.
Well it's not exactly that clear cut. What happens when the school board allocates taxpayer's money to reimburse them for busing school children to private schools? Do you exclude religious schools?
