Whatever you need to feel centered. I usually pray right before I drift off to sleep. I'm typically relaxed a clearheaded. That's all I need. To each their own.

NO ONE'S NEXT moment is guaranteed... I try to make a sincere expression of circumstantial gratitude as a 'Vesper' daily... such that should I cross over mid my sleep
I would have midst my last conscious acts expressing gratitude for the benefits and opportunities Existence had provided me.

The fish in your aquarium may not be aware of all that's provided for them BUT... imagine the increase of care & concern if the aquarium's keeper became aware of the fish's visible appreciation! Their inter-relationship goes from 'casual' to 'ritualized'.

than the merest baseline mutual existence.
The easiest to remember and keep scheduled is daily. If one meditates daily at the same time each day there is little to remember. It doesn't matter what day of the week or even the hour of the day, the schedule is set. Closest to a no-brainer as my brain can make it for me. You mileage, as the car ads sometimes say, may vary, and that's okay too.
Everyday I do a 5 min in the morning and 20 min at night guided meditation
Once a week I skip that routine and do an hour guided meditation
I'd say whatever is needed to maintain spirtual and mental balance. Someone under a lot of stress may need it daily, others might prefer less frequent meditation. But meditation is known to have psychological and therefore health benefits.
I suppose I meditate when I sleep. Which is why sleep is important.
Before the world even knows your awake, wake up in silence let nobody know your yet alive. Once you do that, get to actual meditation this way no1 can let you not meditate.
