I've noticed unbelievers always making fun of us Christians. I ask my sister what is the main reason she does not believe. She goes on telling me how she can't believe in something she does not see. She referred as the invisible men in the ski and laughs which it bother me. Yet her life is crazy out of control drinking and going out at night weekends. Later laughs at me calling me a grandma.
+1 y“If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” ~ John 15:19
If you’re a Christian, it’s expected that the world will not understand you. And, sadly, there are people who mock what which they do not understand.
Persecution can come in varying degrees, whether it be judgmental comments or something more serious like you see in some middle eastern countries where Christians are martyred for their faith.
If you live a holy life, walking in the will of God, you are set apart for God. And, it is only natural that you will be different from others.
There is so much intolerance in the world and so much division over little differences, let along differences in faith.
I think what your sister said was rude and dismissive. If she doesn’t have her life together than she is lost and needs to find her way. She sounds confused and perhaps seeking fulfillment in her reckless lifestyle but not finding it, like the parable of the Lost Son in Luke chapter 15.
Perhaps she will find her way, perhaps she won’t. But even if not through Christianity, I hope that she finds a way out of that darkness.
I used to be a devout Christian, but I am now a theistic freethinker. I am open minded to different possibilities of the truth and I’m not an advocate for organized religion. I suppose you can say I have left organized religion but I have not left God.
Anyway, I think that atheists and Christians alike should think deeply and have very thought out reasons for why they believe what they believe. We are all on a spiritual journey of some sort, and nobody should act with such arrogance when criticizing another person’s beliefs. Everything should be given an honest assessment and explored respectfully and with an open mind.28 Reply- +1 y

Haha, thank you. I used to lead bible studies for my church’s college fellowship and I contemplated going to seminary at one point. 2 of my uncles are pastors and 1 of my cousins is a pastor as well. I also helped lead worship on Friday nights and Sunday mornings. I used to be pretty deep in the church scene. - +1 y

Agnostic Jew, eh?
I identified as an agnostic Christian at some point. But now, a theistic freethinker.
Speaking of agnosticism though…
Honestly, I think if everyone was completely candid about their beliefs, everyone would have a bit of agnosticism since nobody can truly know beyond any doubt what the whole and absolute truth is. I think the best we can do is make an educated guess and then put our faith/trust in what we believe to be the truth. But, since no human is all-knowing we all must humbly accept the possibility that we could be wrong. So, the best we can do if we want to “convert” someone is to present the reasons or evidence for why we believe what we believe, and then let the listener decide for themselves.
Even Jesus did not force people to believe. He said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Which is wise, because faith that is forced upon someone is not genuine faith. Genuine faith is a choice one must make on their own.

I don’t think Christians necessarily have their lives together. Divorce statistics don’t bear that out. Many other statistics don’t bear it out. We are all affected by modernity and the lack of stability imposed on us by rotten, decadent elites.
As for why Christians are made fun of, it is because the American elites tend to be extremely irreligious and also strongly affected by Marxism during their education. The elite have set themselves against all power structures that could possibly challenge their state, and the huge number of Christian churches and their formerly huge influence make Christianity a target in a way that other religions in the US are not.
The so-called “new Atheists” with their “flying spaghetti monster” taunts are weak sauce; real f-tier stuff intellectually speaking with little self-awareness that serious atheists of a couple generations ago would be embarrassed by.

Christians are made fun of because their belief is silly and they try to force everyone else to live by it. They are the vast majority of the people in the country, they hold the vast majority of governorships, they hold 88% of Congress and have had virtually every president. But they still like to bitch about being persecuted. 😂🤣😂🤣
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 well, perhaps. But then again, mass murder of Christians by atheists has been a thing during the 20th century so there is some cause for sensitivity when it comes to persecution. Also, atheists believe that all that is basically created itself with no external cause, and many people would say that is silly.
- +1 y
Wrong. And wrong. Why am I not surprised?
I don't think that you really want to get into history and murders in the last century. Because atheism has absolutely nothing to do with any of that.
And no scientist claims that the universe created itself out of nothing. A universe from nothing is what theists believe, not atheists.
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 isn’t an eternal matter/energy continuum miraculous? And if it isn’t eternal, doesn’t that prove some kind of external power started it? Also, it’s a stretch to say Christianity had nothing to do with countless Christians murdered at various times under communism.
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 What you need is an exorcism because you are possessed. You don't believe Jesus Chris is our saver you will go to hell.
- +1 y
@RealMarek What do you mean "eternal matter/energy continuum"?
If what isn't external?
They may have been murdered under communism but they were not murdered because of communism. Just like the guys that murdered them had mustaches yet mustaches are completely irrelevant. Now if you want to get into religious atrocities we can always scale down that road if you want. I don't think you will though. - +1 y
@AndrésC64 so the USSR and China did not persecute Christians in an effort to enforce atheism as an element of state ideology? I spoke with Christians who were persecuted by those regimes because of their beliefs.
And my point about physical existence is that anything that exists of its own accord must be eternal, because it is not possible for it to create itself out of nothing. Atheism requires faith too. - +1 y
They didn't do it because they were atheists. They did it because they didn't want competition. It had nothing to do with the fact that they were Christians. And since you insist on bringing up things like this let's talk about this thing called WWII and a guy called Hitler. Remember him?
If your god can be eternal, then so can the universe. And atheism does not require faith. You need to learn what atheism is, and/faith. It takes absolutely zero faith to reject your claim about your invisible friend. Just like it takes you zero faith to reject claims about Zeus or Xenu. - +1 y
@AndrésC64 it takes faith to believe the universe could be eternal. Existence itself is miraculous if it is without a cause.
Also, I never said Christians never persecuted people, although Hitler was more of a pagan to be accurate...
I believe, but a lot of people are like your sister.🙏

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV
I’d suggest in your sisters case and many others that they love their sin and will make any excuse to not believe in or obey Jesus.
Typically you’ll find the life of the Christian tends to be much more in order than the non Christian.
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”

Man did create gods. to place fear in society. To control sheep. You are told how to live life, who to hate, how to eat, how to do everything. Your sister is right. Maybe right she's enjoying her freedom. But eventually that will calm down. Living life they way you want it , without the nonsense fears. I'm guessing you believe in Santa Clause? The Easter bunny? The tooth fairy too?

sad for you because you will burn in hell for eternity.

See! religious people hope people burn in hell. That is so messed up. Sam cults. Believe what is displayed in front of me. You believe something that never been seen by any man ever. Just because someone said some believes in it lol. I was born into it, and quickly realized it was silly. Brainwashing's at its best with you.
482 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. Honestly, the main reason is because Christians insist on trying to force everyone else to live by their beliefs. You never hear atheists complaining about Hindus or Scientologists or even Muslims. Because they don't try to shove their beliefs down everyone else's throats.
010 Reply- +1 y
I understand the point you are making, though most Christians are not that way. And atheists have filed numerous lawsuits that have affect what other people can and cannot do in public places.

That is an interpretation that many have made.

Sir I mean come me on seriously how many regular none Christian people are out of control they can't seem to find their way. They are lost going out drinking never grab the Bible in their hands and believe they have bad luck. No evil is inside bars , clubs the places of evil. This why it's so important to go to church every Sunday and read the Bible. I read my Bible every single day. I must say It helps my faith in the the Lord grow more and more.

I think you worry too much about what your sister, and others think. Your relationship with God is not theirs. And it's not supposed to be. Pray for God to keep working on thier heart, and just be the best sister you can for them. Because everybody needs God's love and mercy even if the themselves can't see it.

If I had a sister that went out drinking I would be worried cause bad things happen at bars at night. You can't force your sister to believe maybe one day she will come to believe in Jesus. You could just pray for your sister and that's it.

Miseria is just speaking his mind. There are plenty of people who are not Christians who have orderly lives. That said true Christians real Christians. Authentic Christians, they aren’t out partying all night, they abhor laziness so they take care of their household and affairs, they aren’t involved in living crazy lives.
It is true, one can not know Christ and still live in a sensible way, but more often than not you’ll find Christian’s spending less time indulging in fleshly activities and more time in living a wholesome life of restraint and moderation. - +1 y
@Exterminatore I have learn a lot ever since I converted. Why people thinks this is all normal like for example LGBT people they have a demons possessed over their bodies. I will get a lot of hate for this but some people need deliverance and set free when they convert to Christ. Sir the devil is out to get people he does not want people to be save and come to Chris. Why is it okay for people to make their lives a disaster? Those people are lost and if they don't repent they will be burning in hell. People just assumed going to church is for old people especially people my age not sure where they got that from. I had felt out of place at some festival and events were people are out of control drinking. Another example look for woman dress like whores those woman are lost and unworthy , I mean when did it become okay and normal. Years ago people would get tickets. I had also learn that narcissist are demons. There's people that had share their testimony when converting from satanic to Christian. Now that I had come closer to God I've seen a difference and I am able to understand more.
- +1 y
Whiteboychill Thank you I hope so too.
- +1 y
@always
I don’t think all or even most LGBT people are possessed. Both homosexuality and transsexuality and primitive sex change operations are all mentioned in the Bible. These are choices that come out of the heart. I don’t believe they are caused by demons. I do believe the wide spread promotion of these behaviors is demonic in nature and part of a plan in the supernatural realm , but I absolutely don’t believe all LGBTQ people are demon possessed.
All people gay or anyone who does not believe and obey Christ regardless of sexual preference are demonically influenced however:
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”
Ephesians 2:1-2 KJV
All who don’t belong to Christ belong to Satan. Satan and his demons continually influence them to go down the wrong path, however this happens to everyone who does not belong to God, gay or not.
Demonic possession very rare. It occurs but very rarely.
Most Christians don’t even need the Devil and demons to do wicked behavior. They have all the evil they need in their own hearts. It is Christ alone who can change the heart and make the heart which is dead, alive. - +1 y
@Exterminatore The truth is gay people they're lost if they die today they will go straight to hell. Demon possessed took over them. With all respect Sir, I may going to have to disagree with you on this feminist are possessed by demons too they hate God they have their ticket secure in hell. Too me all those people are walking zombies .
