I have been Catholic my whole life and so have my relatives and parents but yet all of us always noticed this with most religous people of all religions.

You have people who apply to medical school and you have people who get in. In the same way, you have people who say they are righteous and religious and you have people who are authentically righteous and religious. The worst people I know are those who claim to be religious. The bible says disobedient Christian’s and fake Christians are more likely to persecute obedient Christians than the non believers or the heathen. But not all religious people are bad. I’ve met very polite and caring ones too.

My former friend has been a bad friend since he moved in 2016 to Ohio. I pointed it to him many times and the latest I brought it up to him, he didn't apologize sincerely and started saying how I sin. He played the victim. He is a hypocrite because he has done worse things which make him a bad friend yet he thinks he is a better Christian than me. I am a fool for putting up with the bad friendship. What do you think of him talking crap?

To be "religious" you must adhere to standards and rules, and have a spine to uphold them. You seem like the sort of bootlicker that would sway whichever way would be profitable.

Societies only remain stable when certain rules are held to. When people start going with "do whatever feels good" it falls apart so we see society falling apart now. Yes, humans are hypocrites but it's easier to live in a functional society than in anarchy.

I have, which is why I choose a church that is not what most would consider "my style." The people there actually live their claims, helping the needy and each other. They are not perfect, but you can tell that the imperfection are the anomalies, not the main theme.

Why are you still friends with him?

I stopped being friends with him July 2023. A couple of months after he moved in October 2016 to Ohio, he started taking forever to respond back. He kept going back and forth with me with dumb excuses that he is busy, etc. and then he responded back fine. He then went back to the same shit. Than in late 2021 he said he didn't respond back because he has thinking of suicide and that he is sorry for being a bad friend since shortly after he moved. He then went back to responding fine but then went back to the same shit. Than the latest I brought it up him which was July, he said he admits he should be talking to me more but he then said" You are a... and a... yet you dont see me bringing that up often." He brought up sins I do basically. Ironically he has done worse when he moved yet he thinks he is a perfect Christian.

I put up with the bad friendship since late 2016-early 2017 and Im a dumbass for it. I put up with it because of our history of being friends for so long already so many years prior to that. We were always close friends and close friends a couple of months in after he moved. Like 2-4 months after he moved is when he began to take forever to respond back.
