the way i understand what god is, it's a function of our psyche. so to speak an idealized version of self. and so the answer to your question from my point of view would be: what "god" wants is ultimately what "you" want. the only reason we speak of "god" as this unifying external thing in my opinion is: that the concepts of a "good life" is relatively similar between most people. like most of us will have their personal ideas in the specifics but in the basics, we're all mostly the same. that's where the assumption that god is some external entity, when really god is just a concept of mind.
