Do you think the Christian church and community needs to apologize to the LGBT for the way they been treated throughout the years, why, why not? (Page 2)
I do NOT think they need to apologize because the Christian church is a community of their own and should be able to think or talk the way they believe. (hurtful or not)
Maybe some of them especially the one in the pic above. It's not evil or bad it's just not the norm. Honestly I think it's more common now. I understand if people don't like LGBT if it's all up in your face but you need just to apologize or get back and said nothing at all.
How unchristian to send a message of hate towards another human bing. Of coarse the Pride community is going to get aggressive they have more on their plate than most realize.
Pride communities are also Gods children TF is wrong with these hypocrites.
No they don't need to apologise. Their faith is their faith and Christian groups are probably one of the more tolerant towards homosexuality despite it going against their morals. I don't believe they need to allow them into their places of worship, respect their life choices, allow them to marry or anything else that goes against their faith.

I think they should do a foot washing for them. That's what Jesus would do, then have dinner with them. Maybe he'd yell at them and call them "white washed tombs", who knows for sure...
my experience is with the Catholic Church and not once i remember a homily during masses that encourages us to treat them like shit. i think the Nazi Christians/Church should apologize yeah because they just lead these lgbt pips away from Christ
I don't think that picture represents any of the hundreds of Christian denominations, at least according to core tenets. There is no one central Christian church.
Because those are not people who follow the Christian belief. We do not judge, only god is allowed to do this. We do not bully. Sadly many Christians do not know what it means to be a Christian and give true Christians a bad name
@Msputiton I'm my experience it is generally not a good place to find good examples of people who are to be known by their love. I co. pletely understand why most people have gone completely online for holiday shopping.
Yeah well Christmas is another holiday Christians lost meaning of. I just pray we can all find the love that is missing from our hearts, that have been replaced with hate.
Naw. Christmas is about fun for children as well. It's more poor teachings by religious leaders that leads to a very toxic environment. There are plenty of true Christians in this world, but the ones who are toxic will always be noticed because they run around spewing hate loudly for the world to see. Hate and toxicness will always get more noticed than love.
It is a sin and immoral. Nature teaches its a sin and immoral.
And God's word teaches its a sin as well.
God created a woman for Adam to have sex with, not a man.
Leviticus 20:13:
If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.
They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10:
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
there are really only seven passages in the Bible that refer directly to homosexual behavior, and none of them are associated with Jesus. Compare that to the more than 250 verses on the proper use of wealth or more than 300 on our responsibility to care for the poor and work for justice, and you appreciate quickly that homosexuality was not exactly a major theme of the Bible.
There are two verses in the book of Leviticus that refer to homosexual behavior. The first reads, "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination" (18:22). While the second goes even further: "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them" (20:13).
There is considerable debate, however, about three matters. 1) Do these passages refer to consensual homosexual practice (and whether that was even a recognized option in the ancient world), or do they describe the cultic practice of Israel's neighbors and adversaries? 2) Are these regulations contingent because they derive from particular challenges and situations the Israelites faced at that time (the importance of procreation, for instance, given that Israel was a nomadic people dependent on increasing its population for survival), or do they intend to establish universal sexual norms? And 3) even if these regulations were normative for Israelites, do they continue to be for Christians given how many other Levitical codes are contradicted later in the New Testament or have historically been ignored by Christians.
The Bible didn’t say it was Jesus it said that god.. Yahweh did. Nothing in the 10 commandments says anything about homosexuality either. As for levitical law… I doubt that you fallow the laws of clean and unclean, and I’m sure that your wearing mixed fabrics
And what makes other Levitical laws still apply but not those? What give you the right to pick and choose? What about the laws regarding menstruation? What about the taking a disobedient child before the elders and stoning him? What gives you the right to cherry pick.
Have you ever worked on a Saturday or a Friday night? because that is part of Levitical law and it is in the 10 commandments... Jesus never said that homosexuality was a sin, he said that hate is a sin akin to murder, and his greatest commandment was to love others.
To apologize? Maybe not. What that. community should do is instead is focus on their own and realize that their beliefs cannot be imposed on to others. Same vice versa
They only need to apologize if they were actively treating the LGBTQIA+ community poorly. For those who weren't and were supporting the LGBT community, then they shouldn't apologize
I stand by the bible too. To me, these words were spoken by Jesus. But I have nothing against gays and lesbians either.

Look at the fat sea cow in the middle. I bet she doesn't even know what's on her sign. I lived in a city that did protests every Friday. They were always the same people who were craving attention. It was the only way they knew how to get it.
I believe the group pictured is the Westboro Baptist Church from Kansas. It was a fringe group of 400 people, most of whom were related to the crackpot pastor.

I'm getting really tired of this constant obsession with having people apologize for having opinions that don't make everyone feel good.
You don't like/can't join a certain club? Don't join it. Find another.

Sin is a sin I don't understand why would a pastor be okay with people committed such a huge sin God hates.
no absolutely not. the political left has no problem being homophobic/transphobic when it suits them
Does looking at everything in life through a political lens make life easier or more difficult?
No they don't need to apologise. Their faith is their faith and Christian groups are probably one of the more tolerant towards homosexuality despite it going against their morals. @Msputiton have you ever gone to a shopping center during the Christ-mas season?
Yes.

Yeah well Christmas is another holiday Christians lost meaning of.

@Msputiton would getting rid of the secular commercial version and reclaiming Christ mass be beneficial to Christianity?

The bible doesn't say that being gay is a sin. It does condemn pedophilia though.
Another one of those ways of how the bible's words were twisted for an agenda
It is a sin and immoral. Nature teaches its a sin and immoral.

Jesus never once spoke about homosexuality..
Shut up. Jesus clearly taught God made them male and female at beginning.
God isn't in favor of two men duking or sucking each other. Nasty ish.
Show me one passage were Jesus said anything about homosexuality...
Jesus is called the word of God and the Almighty.
Jesus was the one who handed Moses the civil, dietary and festival laws on Mount Sinai and wrote the 1st ten commandments on the two tablets.
Moses didn't come up with none of those laws except the divorce one.
The Bible didn’t say it was Jesus it said that god.. Yahweh did. Nothing in the 10 commandments says anything about homosexuality either. As for levitical law… I doubt that you fallow the laws of clean and unclean, and I’m sure that your wearing mixed fabrics
Civil and moral code of God are still in effect, dietary laws and clothing laws and festival laws doesn't apply anymore.
And Jesus is the Almighty. He claims to be the Almighty and that's a term that applies to God.
And what makes other Levitical laws still apply but not those? What give you the right to pick and choose?
What about the laws regarding menstruation? What about the taking a disobedient child before the elders and stoning him? What gives you the right to cherry pick.

No it's ok I forgive them ❤️❤️❤️ they just don't understand but that's ok. I just wish they weren't hypocrites I don't deserve to be treated mean 😔
They only need to apologize if they were actively treating the LGBTQIA+ community poorly. For those who weren't and were supporting the LGBT community, then they shouldn't apologize

No. The church doesn't treat anyone good. It just is what it is. There's no need to expect an apology.
apologize for what? God hates fags and dykes and anything immoral. period.
I have apologized before and she said I didn't need to apologize for something I didn't do.
You shouldn't apologize in the first place. You stand by God's word.
I didn't apologize for them being gay and sinning. Saying that God hates them IS a sin.
God still loves them
No, He doesn't. The Bible is clear God hates the wicked.
Hell bent on being evil and rebellious towards God then God will hate such a person.
God is love and holy therefore He hates evil and the people who practices evil.
Psalm 5:4-6
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.
The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.
You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
Psalms 11:4-7
The LORD is in His holy temple, The LORD’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.
The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup.
For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.
I thought God was all-loving?
@Joker_: He is but He is also righteous, Just and Holy.
If you love kids then you hate pedophiles, if you love the truth then you hate lying, if you love righteousness then you hate all evil.
