What continents did the pirates explore in there time like Americas, Mexico and Spain and what religions, spiritual and secular labels did they have?

OK here's what im trying to figure out, the question so small I coudlnt see

The pirates are not explored or talked about much

I never thought of them as being islamic until I was told and it seems like there primarily muslim

i wanna know if they were non religious/secular, new age vague spiritual practices in some form, believed in some Greek Gods or something, were called "pagans" or "heathens", or even if they were just atheists or agnostics who didn't believe in god or care about any of that. thats kinda what id suspect.

id also wonder if they were nihilist.

this was a time of the enlightenment, they could be getting information from that the smart pirates.

I think maybe could follow some ancient Egyptian religion.

Could there have been Christian pirates?

And how many or what you think the primary ones would be (Islam) and then the medium level trends (Secular and New Age in my opinion) and then the fringe groups (Atheist, Agnostic and Christian)

It really depends on what your talking about. In the west there were privateers who were employed by a country to raid and pillage other powers and bring their wealth back to the home country. There were also the more typical pirates who acquired a ship through theft or mutiny and did the more classic pirate things. Both would be operating in basically every archipelago around the world in which a western power held territory. Although they are mostly known for operating out of the Caribbean. That said piracy isn't a hard thing to come up with and you'll likely to find piracy among any culture in history that did a great deal of sea travel. Hell I'm pretty sure there are still pirates operating out of the Indian ocean.

Well you seem to be making the assumption that religion plays a part in the decision to engage in piracy which likely isn't the case. As a general rule people get into such illegal activity due to desperation which isn't regulated to any individual religious beliefs. I suppose you could argue that pirates that came from christian or islamic backgrounds foresook their beliefs when they made the decision to engage in illegal piracy, but the pirates themselves still likely held the beliefs they were raised with (at least in part) and justified their actions in their own mind.

the christian pirates may have believed in manifest destiny as an excuse and if there privateers they would just be doing a job like anybody else with legal authority , the muslims may also believe they have a divine right , and then there just pirates believe they are doing bad things but see themselves as something of an anti hero, believing the ends justify the means, so they would have a complex view of what there doing, maybe they believe there sinning but do it anyway. some believed hell would await them.

"Pirate" is basically just "water-bound thief"; they've existed in various forms in different parts of the world for almost as long as we've had boats. The Viking pirates were of the Old Norse faith, the Barbary pirates were mostly Muslim (some started out as Christian, being either the children of converts or converts themselves, but few stayed that way once the Spanish monarchy's threats were gone), and those of the Golden Age of piracy in the Caribbean were mostly Christian (either Protestant or Catholic), if only in name.

im mainly talking about the era of people exploring the Americas. and I know that people from many continents, including Europe spain africa and indians.

and could they be those other religions and spiritual beliefs and secular philosophies I mentioned above?

There only were Christian and Pagan pirates.

The Chinese, Asians, Turks and Arabs did not have a piracy empire anywhere close to the Western scale.
