Is God telling me to date this guy?

Last school year this guy, best I could tell, liked me. But all year long I guess he was too shy to make a move. I didn't either because I wasn't sure if it was right or not. His friend asked me out, and asked the guy if it was okay, and he said yes. But i heard them talking later and he was upset. At the beginning of summer I went to a birthday party, he was cussing in that invironment which was very shocking to me since we were going to a christian school and he was raised in the church. Although after that, I have seen some changes in him and he is doing better in the Christ department. We have known each other for a long time, how do I know if this is God's will?

God isn't going to drop someone in your lap. Be intentional and deliberate in your life. Take initiative. Think of what you consider non-negotiable for a partner who is a good fit for you, and what would be beneficial. And seek for people like that.

God doesn't interviene in your life unless you ask him too and unless it's for your own good, and even then his works are oddly mysterious to even be able to begin to understand sometimes but I think what's happening here is your free will
