Pastor is accusing me of being a witch , Are religious people narcissistic more toxic then normal people?

During the pandemic a friend of mine I met in the hospital invited me to her pentecostal church. At first it was in zoom I didn't have much tough about it just a normal chruch. Until a few weeks ago a friend of mineon here send me information about the lies of pentecostal the more I investigate I found more clear answers. Now I wear pants , basic make up at the same time I still dress modestly. Out of bo where the pastor make up a lie rumors and people in the congergation that I was involved in witch carft pagan arts and that my lifestyle is worldly and that I am a witch. I am not a witch I have no idea or never experienced pagan or how it works. I've been slander. People who I tough were my friends cameover to my house lie to me telling me we were going to read the bible and sing worthship songs lies the pastor and ladies all got ina circle told me to sit inthe middle started speaking in tongue yelling at me punching me and saying I am demonic possess. I tough thos people were my friends I was betrayed. I call the cops my left eye is broused. Now I am moving because pastor keeps nocking at my door whe the police are working and gathering more information as much as possible. I no longer want to practice religion I will never enter a church.

I have studied the history of the Bible, Christianity and Judaism, world religions (ancient and modern), mythology, cultural anthropology, some philosophy and psychology, etc., and come to the conclusion that religion fills a human need but is man-made.

The gods must be angry to create storms, floods, droughts, earthquakes and volcanoes.

Every single culture has some form of religion. It cracks me up that the creation myth that a primitive tribe from Arabia (Hebrews) borrowed from powerful Mesopotamian cultures of the time is believed by many to be "the one, true religion", and that all of the translations of the Bible are the actual word of/from "God".

My own spiritual values involve nothing more than deep respect, reverence, gratitude and awe for all creation, including microbes, trees, animals and people, even water, earth, air, and celestial bodies. Everything is miraculous. Did a supernatural entity set it all in motion? I don't know. But I am extremely skeptical of the existence of a supreme being that favors humans. Does nature favor the predator or the prey? No. But humans imagine themselves to be special, so they create deities in their own image. They imagine gods that are like human kings, only they are all powerful. Humans fear, worship and obey their gods and are, in turn, promised reward or punishment. But who tells humans what the gods want? Oh yeah, humans who claim to communicate with the gods and have exclusive knowledge. LOL

I have read the idea by Alfred North Whitehead and others that every creature, even the lowliest, is the universe observing itself. I like that idea. Does that mean that the universe is prescient? I don't know. But I sure don't believe that it plays favoritism toward humans.

I guess all this makes me a "pagan". LOL

Sorry to hear about what happened to you. I would say that Pentecostals have a reputation of being the most weird form of Christianity since many Pentecostals put special emphasis on spiritual things that can have an esoteric touch from time to time. Many of them speculate arguing the Spirit is telling them but there´s no authority besides them to evaluate that.
Therefore alone from what you describe I can tell you went to a pentecostal church. To answer your question I would since many people are religious there are surely toxic and narcisstic people around them but I wouldn´t say that all Christians are narcisstic and toxic.

This almost sounds like a fake story. But then there are plenty of people out there who do not follow the Bible. These people belong in Salem with their witch trials. Also, speaking in tongues is not Biblical unless there is someone there to interpret what they are saying. It was seen in the Old Testament but is no longer applied in today's world. Most of the speaking in tongues today is fake, as it is supposed to be in an unknown language and there has to be someone that can interpret it. This church, by their actions, seems to be fake and run by a mad man doing Satan's bidding. The sad thing is that lots of people can be fooled, as you can see by the Jim Jones mass suicides, and Heaven's Gate cult. Heaven's Gate was an American new religious movement (often described as a cult) whose members committed mass suicide in 1997. It was founded in 1974 and led by Bonnie Nettles (1927–1985) and Marshall Applewhite. They believed that they would be taken to Heaven on a comet that was passing by. All these kooks make it tough for actual Christians who truly believe in God and His plan of free salvation.

I would rewrite that as "RELIGION is the root of all evil.

That pastor is showing his ignorance be denouncing Paganism. It is certainly not evil, unlike these people harassing you.

Either the pastor has got the hots for you and is trying to break you down, or you've pissed off a "friend" and they're seeking revenge.

Either way it's nothing to do with religion or church and just people being assholes.

You need to collect all evidence of abuse and communication. Make two copies, and head over to the cops to file a report. Get a camera if you need to record what's happening.

I’m very sorry that this happened to you, and speaking as a Christian, I’m sorry that this was your experience when it came to attending Church. Pentecostals are only one denomination, and even then, many other denominations question the validity of their faith and practices because of the churches that allow this type of behavior. Some, like the ones described here, have an unhealthy obsession with the demonic. Or an unhealthy obsession with “speaking in tongues” while not having anyone to interpret the tongues.
I do hope this experience hasn’t turned you away from ever wanting to attend a church again, but I do think this particular one is best left behind.

Yes, yes they are. They are 100% control freaks. They desperately want to control you and make you their obedient slave. Once you realize that religion is only created to oppress people (while religious leaders always get a pass regardless of how horrible their crimes are) you can never unsee it. It's only about control. Once you see through what religion really is, you can never unsee it again.
