I'm a Christian who struggles with lust.
I love Jesus soo much but I fall so fast to scantily clad women.
If you are a Christian in name only and don't go to church or try and practice steering clear of sin then hit other.
Jesus said God cleanses you from impurity when you are generous with the poor.
Now generosity is not just money, but time, understanding, good intention, inclusion, respect, informative advice, physical effort, and lowering your standard for weaker people.
Poor isn’t just poor in money, it could be, poor in intelligence, in strength, in culture, in religious training, in popularity, in moral compliance, in thinking speed, in visual beauty, in happiness, in time, in courage etc…
“As for what is inside of you, be generous with the poor and all will be clean for you.”
Im not an expert on heaven since you have to die to get there but the bible says that good works improve your life on earth. My friend said there are different degrees of blessing in heaven. And this makes sense, a firefighter who dies saving lives should get more reward than a thief who accepted Jesus 5 minutes before death.
I don't know if that reward thing in heaven is biblical. But do not focus on good works down here because you may forget why you are doing them. It is possible for pride to creep up on you by boasting good works. Put Christ first above all and do not spend all your time doing works.
I believe you can remove pride while engaging in merciful behaviour. It might be a temptation in the beginning but you can outgrow it with experience in hiding your good deeds.
I try to be a good Christian but God didn't make me perfect.
Oh how EXTREMELY IRONIC!!!
If you are a Christian in name only and don't go to church and/or don't care to try or feel guilt, then hit other. BUT, if you try and practice steering clear of sin then hit Christian ✝️.
Ironically the ones who sin virtually on purpose and say through grave I'm saved, or who say that they are saved for simply being a Christian DO think they are clear from sin and/or are saved.
Everyone not only sins, but only Jesus is without sin. Many don't have that mindset though, through grace I'm save, I'm going to heaven just because I'm a Christian😀😏. How? One here said that he doesn't know how one can't make it to heaven just by not Obeying the 10 commandments.
I just can't believe I hear a so called Christian say that, it's incomprehensible.
"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
"Lust after" means to chase a woman for the purpose of living out your sexual fantasy with her. Lust itself is not a sin.
@John_And_Elijah I specifically chose a translation that made that a bit clearer than it might be for others. The common interpretation is that what qualifies as sin extends to intentional desires to do wrong things in addition to the wrong things themselves. This is similar to the commandment forbidding coveting things of one's neighbor's. If your eyes make you ogle another man's wife, rip them out.

LOL. Why can't you "have Jesus" AND "scantily-clad women"? Why are the two mutually exclusive?
I'll start with the 2nd. Exodus 20:3-5
Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

As in no idols. People can be idols also.
The first commandment is in error, God our Father is in uppercase and false gods are in lowercase. That's only part of the 10 commandments. Anyhow yes, adultery also, but when a woman dresses like a prostitute to attract men, she is turning herself into a idol to be worshipped by men.
Women for example are supposed to be modest. Not want to covet every man in sight. Some lie about being single, some steal someone else's boyfriend/husband, ... he's my man not yours... there goes the 6th commandment, honoring your father in heaven and mother church, ever parents I don't see how. Everyone just about breaks the 4th commandment.
I guess I could go on with the others, maybe.
ADUL'TERY, n. [L. adulterium. See Adulterate.]
1. Violation of the marriage bed; a crime, or a civil injury, which introduces, or may introduce, into a family, a spurious offspring.
By the laws of Connecticut, the sexual intercourse of any man, with a married woman, is the crime of adultery in both: such intercourse of a married man, with an unmarried woman, is fornication in both, and adultery of the man, within the meaning of the law respecting divorce; but not a felonious adultery in either, or the crime of adultery at common law, or by statute. This latter offense is, in England, proceeded with only in the ecclesiastical courts.
In common usage, adultery means the unfaithfulness of any married person to the marriage bed. In England, Parliament grant absolute divorces for infidelity to the marriage bed in either party; and the spiritual courts divorce a mensa et thoro.
2. In a scriptural sense, all manner of lewdness or unchastity, as in the seventh commandment.
3. In scripture, idolatry, or apostasy from the true God. Jer. 3.
4. In old laws, the fine and penalty imposed for the offense of adultery.
5. In ecclesiastical affairs, the intrusion of a person into a bishopric, during the life of the bishop.
6. Among ancient naturalists, the grafting of trees was called adultery, being considered as an unnatural union.
Jeremiah 3:1-3
They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD. Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness. Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
