Why religions are so hated those days?

Ok sorry first, sorry for all my questions but I’m inspired this week 🫣🫣🫣 so I’ve read lot of comments saying that religious people were a turnoff and I would like to understand why? I mean , I sincerely think religions brings good values as respect, love, humbleness, self respect and so on so what’s so disgusting about it? I know horrible things has been done in the name of religions but to me people are to blame not religions 🤔 no hate please I’m just curious 🫣🫣

The critique can go in a lot of different ways.

Saying “Religion is a turn off” can mean they find religious folks lack in critical thinking skills and don’t enjoy being unable to have spirited conversations with those who just parrot their doctrine without really thinking on the meaning. It could also mean that they don’t care for many of the traditionalist, patriarchal values that the most popular religions of today (ie christianity, islam, etc.) because they find them limiting in terms of expectations for their life and their partner’s life. Another thing is it could be personal issues with religion as an institution, goodness knows that a large portion of church attendance has gone down in recent years because many people listen to the sermons, read the bible, and see none of those virtues of kindness, patience, and forgiveness among their congregants in that church because the leadership takes no real stock in them outside of collecting the weekly offerings. In other personal issues with religion, they could have religious trauma and find it deeply disturbing to go back to a place or religion that caused them such harm and fear and shame and guilt throughout their formative years.

It’s entirely possible to have working, inter-faith religions. The example I know personally is a catholic woman married to an atheist man. They both respect that, as much as they think the other is spiritually incorrect, their views harm no one and they’re good people not in spite of those views but because of them. But for most, religion is either used as a veil for misogynistic traditionalist ideas, or it’s a reflection of something they no longer wish to see in the world. Either way, these people are valid in rejecting those whose views don’t match their own, even if you personally may not agree with their vetting process.

Religions which have wide support in societies don't tolerate any other religion or ideology. It's tolerance paradox while tolerating an intolerant religion.

In atheistic/agnostic societies, religion is hated. Not all over the world. Even here in America we are an atheistic/agnostic society. We have religious rights and freedoms, and political evangelicals love thinking that America is a Christian nation, but that's not really true and most people don't really believe in God or any other religion. And the ones who do believe in God, believe he exists, but they don't actually believe in the Bible.

- Fun fact: many of the world's atrocities were actually committed by atheist (ic) leaders: Stalin, Pol Pot, Vlad the Impaler, Slobodan Milosevic, Attila the Hun, etc. Even the ones who claimed religion like Napoleon and Hitler were still hard to figure out. Many atheist leaders pretended to be religious to please the people. There's even speculation that some of the popes did this as well.

But to answer your question: hating religion is about trying to spite God. If you notice, no one ever cares to fight so hard to prove that Hinduism, Buddhism, or the other non-Abrahamic religions are false. Most atheists put their fight against the God of the Christians and Jews.

People feel the need to look down their nose at others to feel better about themselves, ironically it’s the same kind of people who claim religious folks are hateful.

There are hypocrites don’t get me wrong and a lot of fake, as well as lukewarm Christian’s. They drive me absolutely crazy. But these people who seem bigoted against religious people seem to take extreme examples and make a straw man of everyone who believes in God. It’s not all non religious people who act like this either. But just like bad religious people make religious people look bad, there are people who make the non religious look bad too.

A lot of these people are projecting who they are. Especially when they’re attacking people unprovoked because of their belief system. While accusing them of doing the same thing.

Also there are a lot of trolls on GAG. Some of them play both sides just do cause problems. They will attack one side and attack the other just to stir drama up.

Based on my observation, strongly religious people think about their religion 24/7. They have to follow bizarre rituals, rules, customs and traditions that are specific to their religion.

They can't understand why others don't believe the same things that they do. They can come off as pious and judgmental. They can't just let others live their lives.

They will enforce their beliefs on others when possible, as in prayer in schools and public places, bans on abortion, forcing women to wear certain attire, etc.

Christians, in particular, are compelled to "save" others from mythical damnation.
What's more insulting that telling someone that they are going to Hell it they don't accept Christian beliefs? And then believers get offended and act like victims when people disagree.

Of course, radical, salafist Muslims are monstrous. And Talmudic Jews are pure evil.

What's wrong with just being good, nice, moral, ethical, and compassionate? Christians don't have a corner on that market.

Most people are religious, though. So I don't know that many people hate religion.

Besides, many people are mildly religious. They are easy to get along with. It's the fanatics and those who are strongly religious who are a pain in the ass and generate antipathy toward religion.

because religion apparently "restricts" people from doing what they really want to do which is to be degenerates

there's nothing disgusting about religion and this coming from someone who isn't religious. disgusting people just want to do disgusting things without being judged and religion puts a "strangle-hold" on them

then again there's really no such thing as someone who's non-religious. even atheists worship something whether it's feminism, the pride flag, science or their own feelings and they'll try to enforce that on society too

Some religions use violence to make others bow down to their beliefs, some condemn everyone who is of a different religion regardless of how good a person they are, some are more about power and prestige than serving their members wellbeing or caring about their sole. Some of the worst people I have had dealings with were self proclaiming Christians, in fact if they had not told me how they were such good Christians, I would have never known by their treatment of people, their actions and lifestyle. If they have to tell you rather than show you then the message is nothing more than window dressing for their image hoping to convince you of their sincerity rather than earning that title by living the required lifestyle. IMHO

They mislead people to make them hate specific religions

Islam for example, they created Taliban in Afghanistan, ISIS in the middle east and more around the world, they made them kill in the name of Islam to make people hate it

The The texts they use as a source for their dogma have lost quite a bit in any translation. The Greeks- who westernized the texts- show many contradictions. Mainly for the fact that they are so groomed from birth, that they can't handle people not believing in their god & beliefs, and will go into a crazy person tyraid seminar about why we should believe in their god. If after their shpeel if we still tell them we don't believe in their god, they will keep going.
The other reactions are, treating your believes like we are a lost soul, a "devil worshipper", and berating & verbal abuse.

I'm a pagan druid that believes in nature & the spirits of nature, i deal with this all of the time from monotheistic religions. As for the other omnitheistic religions, i have no issues with them, they are way more accepting of others having different beliefs.

I figure at least some people are very slowly coming around to see how much harm religion has done to human progress... but it is still early days yet. Most of the world is still infected.

Well Christians teach not to do abortion , so the secular media led a hate attack against christians.

Even projected their own feelings of "despised" onto Christians claiming Christians feel hate... but nobody can know the feelings of others... just that Christians have a different opinion. If "criticism is hate" and nobody is allowed to hate , then stop hating Christianity too.
