Flags and Faith - why do they cause so much pain?

I know there are many kind people that stand behind a faith or are proud of their country, but recently religion and patriotism seem to only drive division and a focus on differences.

We're all human, we all live on the same planet with a climate emergency. Why do we let invisible lines on the globe and the books of faith cause death, hate and division?

It makes me very sad that we can't all just get along.

Patriotism and religion have always been a problem, they cause more division and hatred. Unfortunately some people take them to extremes. They believe they're religion is always right and the others or even non religious people are always wrong.

No country is superior to the other, no country survives without the others. Unfortunately many people can't grasp that. We're letting religion and patriotism control our behavior and our beliefs.

I guess that now governments and even citizens use these two things because all the crisis that we're facing. Specially the Israel-Hamas war and the refugees.

Im not surprised we have different beliefs, values and morals but some go to the extremes with their “support” towards something. I love my country but im not waving the flag. I love my religion but im not knocking on doors passin out bibles. I think its just a lack of self control for some and assuming they are “doing it for the greater good”. I have friends who hate their country or hate religion but theyre not burning flags and bibles to show their disdain for it. Some people just lack self control

climate crisis? those claiming the climate crisis are the ones who are annoying which cars are better or more expensive or available.

all the peer pressure and everything done for the excuse of global warming.

oh and sea level rose 300 feet even before we started burning coal in millions of steam engies.

Why do they cause so much pain? As good as all wars have broken out over expanding borders or religion; so how can the 2 not be toxic?

The short answer is religious nationalism is one of the greatest political tools of oppression, and you can find it in spades in the American republican party and just how many of them are willing to say things about President Trump being anointed by God.

Climate crisis? Don't you think it strange that they never seem to go after all of those big Jets, F1 racing and all of the transport the rich use... only the working class?

As for faith and flags. It is the Kingdom of darkness Vs the Kingdom of light. Many have no idea about that because much of it is unseen.

Lack of historical perspective. Flags and faith are the single biggest unifying forces on the planet.

The flag creates unity as does the Christian faith. Otherwise we'd be living in some communist he'll hole.
