1. The existence of God is no more convincing than the existence of Santa Claus. Both are invisible, both unprovable, but at least Santa leaves gifts for children.

2. The universe isn’t primitive enough to require a "creator." But humanity is pathetic enough to label everything it fears as "God."

3. The problem of evil? If God exists, then He’s either a powerless clown or a sadistic dictator. In either case, not worth worshiping.

4. Who created God? The idea of a "creator" that cannot explain its own existence is the laziest nonsense in the history of thought.

"Exist" is not something you can argue about when it comes to the divine. You obviously weren't there before, so know nothing; and can only parrot others who know less than you - as they were not there either.

3. Evil is a subjective term, but everyone likes beef steak but ignores how they are made.

5. "Religion" is an English and Christian term. Other faiths operate differently and under different languages and systems. Muslims, for example don't even have a clergy or central institution.

A good friend told me that he has to believe in God, otherwise sufferings would be absurd, meaningless. He needs a clear reason to explain sufferings, and God, Christian version, provides such a reason
