Where does religion exist in a world in which we are increasingly trying to replace mankind with AI and machines?

Omg, more of this AI is replacing humans fear mongering nonsense.
Look the self-driving cars remember 10 years ago when they said it was going to take over and everyone is going to be using a self-driving car by now? No it's the same thing you need a human to drive the car 98% of the time. Same thing with the word press "oh its over they don't need humans to code raw HTML anymore" boom UI/UX jobs come out, word press developer jobs come out.
"Oh the robots and kisok are going to replace McDonalds cooks and cashiers" BOOM! robotics technician jobs open up for McDonald's employees that pay a higher salary, but require more skills.
It's just a tool to make life easier it's not going to replace a human. The textile machine comes and everyone thinks it's over for the hand loomer no you still need for custom designs. It's the same the thing that happens all the time through history you got learn new skills.
We don't run a city the same way we did back in 1784 it changes you have to learn new skills and adapt that's all it easy stop buying into this big tech end of humanity nonsense. The big tech CEO say stuff like that to get you to click on their post or social media profile.
Elon Musk was talking about going to Mars 2026 you think will have ship on Mars by 2026? No that's not happening lol.
Simply put, if you believe that human religious figureheads in our society aren't using AI already to write their sermons, you're sorely mistaken. Rather than use our own thoughts, or rely on a bible or a Koran or whatever, the long ago start of replacing any free thinking thought about such a complex idea, is being outsourced to machines.
Unfortunately there will always be stupid fearful people to serve as customers for cults selling "Gods" as a solution to all their problems that serves up simple minded explanations for all the things they don't understand. Which is almost everything. These people would rather believe in lies than deal with reality. So sadly, religion will keep screwing up society like it always has.
It's a control mechanism. In the case of Christianity, the promise of eternal life in paradise and the threat of eternal pain surrounded by pure evil to keep you in line. And a religious leader to explain what their holy book is actually telling you because you can't believe your own eyes. The whole thing is infantile. But it sells.
Our life and mentality. Everyone see artificial intelligence can use every departmant and complicated system. Even it'll hard for people technology can handle it easily. But still world needs patient and emotion. Also humanity needs to believe something and geldi spirituality for connect to earth.
I’m borrowing this question to share with my kids today. It’s been a theme in our classroom discussions for a few weeks now. 😉
You'll have to tell me how it goes. Curious to hear their perspective.

Dave Bowman and Hal, from 2001Space Odyssey. What does AI do when Humans get in the way of the Mission? What happens when AI is doing 75 percent of the labor? You have a large population of humans with no way to support their families. It is going to require a great shift in our rationale. So you think Ultra efficient industries are going to support the burgeoning mass of unemployed humans. The current way of thinking is that it is not their problem. Certainly the Economic Gap is going to widen. And when the Carrot is so far from the mule that it is considered unattainable, the mule will loose hope and rebel. Sounds like a set up for socialism. When horses were replaced by gasoline engines the dog food factories flourished with horse meat. OK , this is a worse case scenario. An extreme. Most likely won't happen but institutions like the church will be the factor that prevents it. Americans had trouble understanding the lack of concern for human life that we witnessed during WWII. My father served in Okinawa, the thing that gave him nightmares for the rest of his life, were Japanese soldiers killing their our civilians after the surrender. Men women and children slaughtered. The cries haunted him. After he came home he couldn't stand it when my brother and I started wimpering. Comparatively we had nothing to cry about. We may see it again , but at our own doorstep. Concern for profit, Concern for human life? How are we going to balance that?
Religions has been a tool to control people. Modern tools are different, it's ideologies but some of them turn dogmatic and can't handle even slight criticism.
AI is human attempt to see if consciousness is something spiritual or just a complicated calculation. One day we will create a self aware AI if we don't destroy ourselves before that happens.
Cogito, ergo sum [I think, therefore I am] is maybe wrong and should be 'I calculate, therefore I exist'. however I think I should care more about hair on my pretty head instead of playing philosophy. XD
First of all, no one I know of is "trying to replace mankind with AI". 'Artificial intelligence', an oxymoron if ever there was one because it's not very intelligent, is nowhere near as impressive as many make it out to be. There is still a long way to go before it is even able to make decisions on its own, to transcend its programming. Conversations with AI programmes (like ChatGPT) are stilted, predictable, uninspiring and totally boring, and not at all like the conversations that one has with real people. I mean, just look at the silly bots that this site has! Do you really believe that these non-entities are going to replace you?
I think it's a forgone conclusion that some people will treat future, more advanced AI as a new god. Some of the engineers working on that project have explicitly said that "giving birth to a new god" is their goal, and no doubt there will be cults popping up who start doing that, and using the AI as an excuse.
After witnessing how people responded to COVID, I don't think any low could possibly surprise me.
It probably will continue to offer the services (weddings, funerals) and weekly services already - just like any other *social club if you think of it like that* - however they may eventually shrink fewer locations fewer locations fewer people
Everyone will soon find out when Jesus returns to rapture his people. Evevery Man, woman and child will have to stand before the judgment seat and receive a judgment relating to their beliefs and life. Then be recognized by Chtist for their works or he as the mediator won't recognize you and you will be sent to the lake of fire slso known as hell.
Nobody is trying to replace mankind with AI and machines. Where would be the sense in that?
One day I see our earth evolving past a need to believe in a religion but that like is more wishful thinking.
I don’t understand you specifically, but what is the relation between religion and AIAI is not a living organism but mankind is a living organism AI do what we humans programming to do So there is no religion for AI because he can’t decide what he want But in the other hand, humans are free. Can decide what they want can Be responsible for their own decisions Humans own their own choice but AI not
All religion is bullshit, so its going to get removed from society more and more over time anyway.
The real issue with AI is the loss of humans with knowledge, skills, and talents.
Religion concerns man's relationship with God. So if there are those who believe in, love, and desire to serve God, religion will still have a place in society.
A. i. is cheap and easy? One has nothing to do with the other. As long as a. i. isn't acting like God or brainwashing people to be a luke warm Christian, I wouldn't be worried.
The same one we live in now. People are smart enough to see machines for what they are, we’re not being replaced and humanity isn’t going anywhere.
Religion still exists. AI will not replace it.
is essential, you are going to want a bailout from this world. such belief changes your view, hope, and such. otherwise, we go downhill...
AI Jesus to pray to, AI Chatbot to confess to, AI voice Church Service that you read along to, etc.
AI is barely off of its feet, with a lot of people not feeling to need for it. It's definitely not replacing the natural human need for something bigger than we are.
People aren't trying to replace religion. They want to replace other people.
But no conflict between progress and god, unless you refuse to use zippers.
I'd be more concerned about where humanity exists. Religion is part of broader humanity
It doesn't. Good riddance!!
Religion and artificial intelligence can exist in this diverse and amazing universe without cancelling either one out.
If I were to channel words inspired by the teachings of Jesus, here’s a thought I could share with you today:
“Love one another as I have loved you, for in love, all things find their purpose. When you face challenges, remember that kindness is a light, and compassion is a path. Seek peace within yourself, and you will share it with the world around you.”
Would you like to explore this thought more, or reflect on how it might connect to your life right now?
This is what chatgpt wrote.
A world that is less religious is more likely to replace religion and accept AI easily
They are manipulating people, I bet that they will soon make "god simulation" (or AI God) and make a new religion.
Eventually in the history section of libraries.
Human just a made up word and why worship a being made of a word
Religion as we knew it is DEAD! The NEW RELIGION is AI!
All hail the church of the broken God
Ai will be our god
It still has a place
It's only a threat if we make it so.
Asacrutch for the desperate
In Finland.
Okay. I was better minded this morning. Here is what's going to happen. Just like with other things are affected by science including Creation and evolution. Science and AI will push back the requirement for physical labor by men, but it will never disappear because someone's going to apply those fields and someone's got to fix those cars. Robots will not be able to do what humans can do because they cannot be programmed to be free. Thinking. At least not yet
The AI Gods
