The Bible says only a small percentage of people will go to Heaven. Do you agree?

Question

Matthew 7:13 “Heaven can be entered only through the narrow gate! The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide enough for all the multitudes who choose its easy way. 14 But the Gateway to Life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it."

I have read some opinions saying that only 2.5%-30% of humans will make it into Heaven. Despite the huge range in the estimates, most will not make it inside the gates. How do you feel? VOTE BELOW!

Agree. why would "God" want corruption into his energy? If the God is love, as Jesus said, then that's what is being filtered out... for that "energy". The only hope I see is via being part of Christ, for we are all deeply flawed.

I've questioned my own salvation at times as I don't like my own treatment of others , like when I don't engage or care for another that is down. That is what Christ did, and I fall down. It's painful to me as I when I see a person, I see the lost child so often... distorted by the world, not so much the corrupt adult. Cannot ignore there is a corrupt adult, that's an equal challenge of trust and fear... and reality.

I can relate to these... other writing about how I know what to do but don't do it. People can be flawed, we all have to examine ourselves daily.

Romans 7:15-20:

Luke 9:23: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

I have no idea what %, maybe God is much more gracious than we are... it does seem we are forgiven, as the Bible says... many times. I suspect out of compassion, he'd take all the children. It's the ones by choice that reject that be in trouble. How strange though, those would be due to being wounded in life, so they harden to love. People thrown into the fire as children, it gets harder to understand the why. It becomes easy after thinking about to hate God and all the bible. Must be careful... of thought. I don't throw our Christ because of the complexity of the issue. Christ saves, credit to Him.

The whole Bible is about separation from God..."love". If simply reflect on whom you wanted to be and how you'd like it to be, it makes sense to me.

But Jesus said..."these are not all my sheep"... so some may not respond to His calling.

That means that  some  can live a righteous largely sinless life, like John The Baptist, and  have less to account for , but 1John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" Further, Romans 10:9-10 states that you will be saved if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. And Ephesians 2:8-9 emphasizes that salvation is a gift of God through faith, not earned through works. Jesus' mission was to replace the Old Testament path to Eternal Life, that was straining to live a perfect life and then resorting to Blood Sacrifice with the new dispensation detailed in the scriptures above. Jesus was the final Blood Sacrifice and provided a new path to salvation. If you don't like my answer, its still my answer.

Then virtually no one would qualify to go , and certainly none in these photos. But zero need to worry coz its all complete fantasy and when you are dead , you are just that dead , its over , sai lar vee.. goodnight !

Matthew 7:13  (CEV)  “Go in through the narrow gate. [...]" Luke 13:24  (CEV)  "Do all you can to go in by the narrow door!" Seems seriously inconsistent with: Leviticus 18:22  (CEV) "It is disgusting for a man to have sex with another man"

That text is written to let people know that getting into heaven is not easy. It doesn't mean only a few will reach heaven. Think about it. If only a few get into heaven, hell would be overflowing. Would God, who made man in his own image, create so many evil people?

I don't read the bible as literal, I read it as instructive mythology. The assessment of people's character could be true. I'd like to think it's not but ancient people did know a lot of things. The world was harsh in their day and it beat knowledge into you.

The bible isn't saying anything different. Just the standard is not something that can be "faked" as it can be in this world.

What I read between its lines is, that a ticket to heaven cannot be purchased at some counter.

"The bible" says an awful lot of stupid things. In fact it doesn't say much that isn't stupid. It is mostly used to record, in archaic, superstitious terms, the lives and legacies of a bunch of dead people from thousands of years ago who nobody even knows the descendants of. I believe there will be lots of people in heaven. But those people got in by putting their faith in Jesus cause they can't be good enough on their own.
