If god is all-powerful and Jesus could perform miracles, why didn't either of them do anything to stop him from being nailed to a cross?

Because the point of the cross was that it was a willing sacrifice on the part of Jesus. He knew what he was doing, he knew the cost of this one life would potentially be enough to save trillions. This was what he agreed to when he was placed on earth by Jehovah.

It's a roundabout way of saying the sacrifice of his son balanced out the sins of those on earth, much like how sacrificing a lamb (way back in the days of animal sacrifice) absolved you of your sins in the eyes of god.

What's that got to do with anything? Technically, we CAN create a universe every time we go back into time and try to come back. We can't come back to this universe and, just by us going back, we actually created a new one that we'd end up going to if we TRIED to go back to the present. At least, theoretically.

so, there you have it! I just created a new universe by NOT going by his plan!! Yeah, I read Genesis. It made no sense. Supposedly Adam & Eve were the only two humans on the planet and it was up to them to populate the ENTIRE planet but, that'd be impossible because there wasn't enough genetic diversity to be able to do that. Otherwise, we'd all be inbreds!! There'd HAVE to be at least 6, or was it 12 couples to start with.
Besides, look at what happened! Adam & Eve had a kid, a boy. Then they had another boy! One killed the other so, they had another kid to replace the dead one and THAT was a boy! So, unless their sons were screwing mom, the ONLY woman on the ENTIRE planet, and getting her pregnant, how could they have possibly populated the planet? All we know is the boys went for a walk in the woods one day and a couple girls fell out of the trees and fell in love with the boys and had a few more kids. Where did those girls come from? Did they just fall out of a coconut tree?
