I was brought up with "fear mongering of god", something like... i need to pray every night so the "angels" can take care of me, or "god will be upset if i didn't finish my dinner", etc.. this was happening when i was young, very young... then i grew up.. and start Questioning... Who wrote the bible, who wrote the 10 commendments "on the rock plates"? Humans! Why the highest of the priests have the best cars, the biggest houses? because its a "business"... why do good people die but the scum are roaming the earth ti'll late (80's-90's) some even 100... Why in the "holy books" there are so many "scary/loving scenarios" If you do bad, god will send you to hell, but he forgives you if you repent, but then if you don't make his will he will send you to hell again, but then you can "change" and start "believeing" in him and he will love you again, sounds more like cat and mouse, Brainwashing... For instance "god loves humans"right? So i had seen small kids Drown at them ages of 6,7,8,10? What they "sinned with"? Nothing, even babies, or babies dying in fires (house fires) why they couldn't be Saved? When you ask people they will answer: "that's god's will, they will be in heaven, etc" bitch shut up, you cannot Know if there is heaven or hell, haven't been there, nor you or anyone else... so yeah! I'm sorry that i might offended some people by reading this but i'm like Toma the Non believer! Until i won't see/feel i won't believe...🤷♂️
Atheist, because I simply don’t believe in God.
I am technically born into Christianity, though I don’t believe there is a God.
Before you get triggered (since there are a lot that get triggered these days)
1. Ten Commandments and The Bible also other religious text seem like good sound moral structure, especially with the whole ‘killing is a sin thing’ since yeah it is horrible
2. Persuading people to be not selfish, not greedy, not rude, and have the upmost respect for their elders is a pretty good thing to push onto all humans, I can agree on a surface level that all religions that preach this are good religions
3. If you follow any religion and or subscribe to multiple then don’t take my words as hatred or siding with one, I simply believe if your religion strives for you to be a good person every single day and be happy then it is totally for you. I personally don’t get satisfaction in it. I get satisfaction of the ‘here and now’ more than the ‘preparation for the Afterlife’. My job is pointing out the flaws of our human society and leaving the Earth a better place than I left it for the next generation to not have to clean up our mess.
I’m Atheist, that is that.
I'm agnostic. I don't really believe in any of the gods we profess to know right now in any current religions, but I do think there is some kind of higher power. I think there is one universal truth that a lot of religions have and that's treat others with kindness as you would expect for yourself or basically "don't be a dick". I try to live by that the best I can.
I am religious. My mom is a Christian my dad is an atheist, from a young age I always felt this strong connection with God and the need to have a faith. No one forced me to pursue God or religion, I pray every day and night and I've seen what it does to me and that's enough for me to be God fearing.

I was once an athiest. In fact, I was a militant athiest. I used to hate Christians so much. I used to think they were judgmental hypocrites because I only knew those I call Christian in name only. But now I am a true follower of Christ. It was a long journey, but the culminating event was when my stomach was sliced open in Iraq.
I was a Navy Corpsman. We are medics that serve both the Navy and Marine Corps. I was deployed with the Marines. I was about to step on an IED. The only reason I did not was because Gunnery Sergeant told me to stop because he needed to discuss something with me. A Marine next to us walked on top of where the IED was at, 10 feet next to us. Him and Gunny were blown to pieces and my stomach sliced open.
I was in a coma for 3 weeks, but to me it only felt like being out for about a day. The entire time I was out, I heard the most loving voice ever tell me "It is time to repent. You're not done yet". These two sentences kept repeating the entire time I was unconscious.
The doctors were amazed when I woke up. Even better, somehow my vital organs were missed. When we replayed footage of the incident, I realized that had I stepped even a foot to the left, right or further back from Gunny, the shrapnel would've hit vital organs. If Gunny had not been in front of me at the right moment, it would've been me instead of him blown to pieces. If Gunny did not have a question for me, I would've been the one to step on the IED and other Marines in the area would've been seriously wounded.
All of these things happening to me, some events prior and dodging death again as a Corrections Officer and while homeless has hardened my faith in God. I've seen and experienced too much to ever turn my back on God again.
I'm a Christian, but the way I live doesn't fit either bracket.
Religious people tend to believe in God, but struggle to believe God. There's a massive difference. Even the devil believes God exists.
I've never met an actual atheist. The theological knowledge you need to say beyond all doubt that there is absolutely no possibility of the existence of a creator would take longer to absorb than Methuselah lived. I've met agnostics and morons. Agnosticism acknowledges there's more than we understand but stops short of belief and morons just blindly accept evolutionary theory without understanding either the theory itself or ever actually opening a Bible or any other belief's books.
No, atheism is essentially nothing more than saying "I don't believe you" when people claim that god (s) exist. And anyone that doesn't believe in evolution is the moron. It is one of the best established theories in all of science. It is supported by numerous disciplines and tons of evidence down to the DNA level.
Really? Evolution?
Cosmic, Chemical, Astronomical and Planetary, Organic, Macro or Micro?
You actually mean "Natural Selection" or Microevolution - changes within a specific type of animal. Different beak shapes within finches as Darwin observed.
The theory that everything started with a big bang omits that the laws of physics state that an object at rest remains at rest until an outside influence changes that state. So what started the big bang? (See Genesis 1:1 for the answer)
Chemical? Never been observed. There's theories that everything started as hydrogen, but it's a theory that's never been observed.
Stellar & Planetary? Never observed. We've seen flashes in the sky and theorised it was stars exploding but nobody's actually observed the birth of a star
Organic? Life from non-life? Genesis 1:11-12, 20-21, 24-25 and then humans in verses 26-28.
Macroevolution? Dogs make dogs. Cats make cats. No dog ever had a litter of kittens. It just doesn't happen and it's never been observed.
Microevolution is natural selection within a species. Changes adapting over time. It's the only type ever actually seen. Dog breeds. Cat breeds. Changing the colour of carrots. But they're still dogs, cats and carrots.
Theory isn't proof.
There is strong evidence for everything you mentioned. But you're doing what most apologists do, you're trying to muddy the waters. When people say evolution, they are talking about the evolution of life.
Natural selection is part of evolution, that along with changes in alleles. The only difference between microevolution and macroevolution is time. We have observed evolution in nature.
The Big Bang has absolutely zero to do with evolution.
You obviously don't know what the word theory means in science. Maybe you should use the Google machine.
Quoting your old book in order to support what it says in your old book is the logical fallacy known as begging the question.
Again, you are simply showing your ignorance of what evolution is. Maybe try opening a book or again, use the Google machine.
We have observed evolution.
And again you are showing your ignorance of what the word theory means.
Here are 29 observed instances of speciation, macro evolution.
https://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/
Like "atheist" and "evolution"?
You can't have Microevolution withouth the other five before it. So evolution is dependent on the Big Bang producing helium, and helium somehow becoming all the other elements, which somehow combine and form stars and planets - which are lifeless and need to produce life from non-life, and then natural selection somehow selects attributes that aren't there and become a common ancestor for everything from amoeba to humans, and the different subspecies of each?
Face it, my religious belief makes far more sense than YOURS
Dr. Ken Miller uses genetics to show that humans and great apes have a common ancestor:
https://youtu.be/zi8FfMBYCkk?si=d9LleBlBfZD4mIBw
Since the DNA of many carbon-based lifeforms contains millions of pieces of data I'm sure he could use genetics to "prove" we evolved from blueberries if he selected the correct genes to make that assignation.
Bloviation isn't proof. There are no fossils that unequivocally prove dogs and cats have a common ancestor because there is no unequivocal proof that set on bones ever actually reproduced. And unless he has the genes of every generation back too the assumed common ancestor it's still conjecture not evidence
Agnostic team. Anticlerical style.
First, because I don't come from a religious background, so I have no incentive to respect traditions from family.
Second, because there are many psychological, cultural, political and historical reasons explaining the emergence of multiple religions all around the world. Explaining why they can be used as tools to control or appease people and unify nations.
Third, because I distrust religious people, preachers and followers alike, as they have repeatedly shown me that they value more the rules than the people.
The evidence for God is sound. DNA is a computer code and is no accident. Even the fact you can form a syllogism supporting the existence of God, but not denying the existence of God, is strong evidence of God's existence.
Beyond that is personal testimony. I have eye-witnessed an angel telling me my sister's cancer was cured, and the next day we got the MRI results showing my sister's cancer was cured.
I don't care if 10,000 liars say otherwise, I'm going to believe my own eyes and ears.
@AndrésC64 It is base 64 computer code. It literally has start and stop commands and for loops, just like QBasic for goodness sake.
@AndrésC64 I am not clueless about genetics. I aced biology in college and one of my best friends is a genetics engineer..
I don't believe you aced biology in college for one second. Here are a few videos from people who actually have studied evolution.
youtube.com/playlist
You know, let's just cut to the chase because I don't think that you're going to bother watching any of those videos. What evidence do you have for your invisible friend because that's really the crux of the argument. Give me your single best piece of evidence or argument for your invisible friend.
@AndrésC64 Hey dummy, the evidence is everywhere, and the logical arguments have been around since the beginning of Time.
Cosmological Argument
The First Cause must be Uncaused, Self-Eternal, and Self-Motivated. The only thing which can be Self-Motivated is a Free Moral Agent, which would be a Super-Mind.
Ontological Arguments
1) God as we Understand Him is a Being than which no greater being can be conceived.
2) A Being which exists in reality is greater than a Being which exists only in the mind.
3) Therefore, we can't be imagining God.
4) Therefore, God exists.
Entropy Argument
The Universe cannot be self-eternal, because if it were it would already be in a condition of maximum entropy, and there could be no more mechanical Work in the Universe. The real Universe is very nearly at MINIMUM Entropy, which suggests that it is very YOUNG relative to the "Oldest" condition it is capable of obtaining. That is to say, Ibelieve the Universe is more like 96 Billion years old due to the Speed of Light Postulate limiting the Universe's rate of expansion, but the future of the Universe is around 10^128 number of years, which vastly dwarfs the mere 96 billion years I propose for the Universe's current age. I can show calculations I've done which suggest the Sun is actually 48 Billion years old, not just 5 billion years old as the Standard Model claims.
God is not a man.
God is THE Origin of all of reality.
The cosmological argument does not prove that your invisible friend is real. Even if we take all of its presumptions as true, all it does is say that the universe had a beginning. Big deal. Now prove that that beginning was caused. Now prove that that cause was a being. Now prove that that being was a God. Now prove that that God was your God. I'm waiting.
I'm an Antitheistic Nihilist.
I recognise religions for what they are: memetic pathogens. Diseases of the mind. Mental illness.
Unfortunately most Atheists, even in spite of having cast off the utter derangement of religion, are still tainted by the needless constraints of morality that religions left in their wake. Otherwise they might realise that most of the religious cannot be cured, and that the only sane and sensible thing is to round them all up and cull them to put an end to these diseases.
Humanity as a whole has had its progress severely held back by religions and general idiocy over the course of the past two millennia. Who even knows what interesting things we'd have now if not for so many centuries of enforced retardation.
But it isn't going to happen.
Most of humanity is tainted, and as long as they're tainted then the diseases can't be killed off.
This timeline is a wreck and a ruin and there is no redeeming it.
Neither. Currently we don't have sufficient evidence to conclude the existence or inexistence of a God. Both sides like to believe their conviction is the only truthful one, but fail to produce any evidence substantiating their claim, other than a mere, "Take my word for it, or because I said so, which to me, comes across as arrogance. Till some cosmic event or revelation happens, or some new scientific theory disproving the existence of God, emerges, I'll remain firm in my position of agnosticism

As for me I’m a leader not a follower & with all honesty I like going my own way, doing my own thing & living my life without following words in a book. If I had to choose between religion & atheism I wouldn’t choose religion & if I did have to choose religion I would definitely choose the devils team because I like horns & a pitchfork.
Agnostic is a better label for me than “religious” or “atheist”. I’m too questioning to be religious and too intelligent and open minded to be atheist.
I sometimes refer to myself as a skeptical believer though. I have also described myself as the now cringeworthy “spiritual”, but i was doing it before it was kool and long before it was cringey. Ell oh ell!
I’m not religious at all because I just don’t see how when we all die, we go to some spiritual plain of existence to be reunited with all our loved ones and what not. Just seems very fairytale-ish, and feels like it’s just a way for humans to cope with the inevitability of death.
I'm a kind of Agnostic-Atheist soly because I have no fucking clue what goes off if we die or what's going since the fact is that someone says they are right about their religion and they only true one its too contradictory. I just have no idea, so I am like… well, guess I am gonna be a problem for everyone else.
I'm a nature worshipping pagan. God doesn't exist and monotheistic religions always treat people like garbage because others dont believe in their god or don't share the exact same beliefs (which is why there are so many sects). Nature always provides and it is backed by science.
I am religious. I am a traditionalist Catholic. I am so because I believe in God and that he created our world, and that he intervened in history to establish the Catholic Church.
atheist, cause i follow that which is evidently true, not that which might be true if you just have strong enough fantasy but you can't show that it's true. cause the latter would litterally be delusion, which is exactly what religion is.
Between those. Religions have ceremony, kneel five times a day or wear prayer cubes or eat first communion, but new testament is by faith in books jeremiah Ephesians and more.
Not super religious but I am spiritual and believe in God.
Ex hindu agnostic here. I read the scriptures of this religion and it seemed total rubbish to me. Islam makes more sense to me but I'm not sure if I'm fully ready to accept it just yet.
Hindu stories are actually very good quality. Does polytheism bother you?
@strateguy632 have you ever read them?
Yes i read them and hindu stories are very good quality.
@strateguy632 lol what did you read?
Mahabharta and vedas
@strateguy632 you have read mahabharata, it's entirely based on war. Have you ever heard of 'Lord Brahma?'
atheist
just never was indoctrinated into it and that feeling of these being a god was never there
there being*
indoctrinated? Don't you know philosophers proved god is real. How can people follow liars who say "no proof", cancel those liars!
I am atheist. I was brought up Catholic, however never fully believed. Now, my whole family except my brother are now atheist or agnostic.
How can I be an atheist unless science gives me a good answer on the cause of all things?
Muh big bang theory is the most absurd shit I've heard.
In doubt.
Religious because of the things I have witnessed.
Atheist because of the things from people, believers included that I have witnessed.
But people are able to sin therefore they do not represent any god. If people are rotten that doesn't mean their god is also rotten. Unless their god commanded to hurt people.
Read about Judas
@strateguy632 Can I DM you?
I am Religious I made God very angry. I am sorry God and Jesus.
But the belief in nothing is still a belief of something.
I fully believe in God and believe in the Bible.
Neither, I'm convinced there is something but don't know what that would be.
Faith.
I know the universe did not create itself and matter does appear out of nothing.
And how do you know that the universe didn't create itself? There are scientific hypotheses that say that that could be possible. And by the way, the people who think that matter appears out of nothing our religious people, not scientific people. You are the ones that think that your invisible friend just "poofed" everything into existence ex nihilo.
@AndrésC64
Well you are a fool.
I'm religious because I love truth, and I cannot abandon the God who saved me.
I'm neither. There ARE more choices you know!
I'm agnostic. I believe in some sort of intelligent design, but I don't believe there is some god watching over us and judging our behavior, and I don't believe there is a heaven or hell.
But if someone intelligent bothered to design... wouldn’t the designer have a purpose? And tell the purpose to the creatures?
Wouldn't they he also make himself known?
He sould send prophets, if he was intelligent, now we need to check which prophets.
@strateguy632 There is no verifiable evidence he even exists. He could easily change that if he wanted to. But he has chosen to leave only cryptic documents. Or, he doesn't exist.
Atheist religion has these rules if you do this and this you go to Hell or you’ll be excommunicated for this. Sounds more like a cult.
Because I don't believe things without good reason.
Im religious. You'd have to be really faithful amd stupid to think all of this was caused by nothing.
Atheist. Because there's no proof that there IS a god!!
These people don't understand exactly what an atheist is.
I am religious, because I believe that we have been created by super creator.
I’m religious because I choose not to kill my spiritual side.
I am a Christian and follow God. At the same time my life chose me not me it.
Satanist agnostic
I grew up in a religious household
I believe in God. But I'm not religious.
Religious. It’s what I believe.
I’m an atheist. I don’t believe in gods.
I am religious but my bestie is atheist
What religion do you follow?
@Med_guy1978 buddist type.. east Asian esoteric
☺️👍🏻
Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.
Catholic, as per my raising.
Secret third option...
agnostic
But agnostic is not a third option. Belief is binary, one either believes or one does not believe.
Here's a very simple way to show that.
1) Make a list of every single god in which you believe
2) Count the number of names on the list.
If N = 0, then you are an atheist.
If N >= 1, then you are a theist.
There are no other possibilities.
I'm definitely not religious.
Why? Because I'm logical.
I don't see an option for agnostic
Religious.
I believe in God & Jesus
And the holy spirit
Agnostic theist
Religious
I dont care.
