Did Judas Iscariot got to Hell?

Most Christian teaching is that Jesus Christ became man to die for man's sins, the Original Sin committed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

In order for Jesus to die, to be crucified, someone had to turn him in to the authorities.

Christian teaching is that Judas Iscariot, one of Christ's disciples, is the man who did that, turning Christ over to the Romans for some silver coins.

As such, Judas is vilified for doing that, and most Christians believe he went to Hell when he died.

But did he?

Judas fulfilled the prophecy, and God's Plan, doing what was necessary. In brief, he did God's will.

Should Judas have been rewarded for that, or damned to Hell?

I think yes, more than likely. In fact, according to people more knowledgeable than I am, Judas is one of the few people who we can be reasonably certain is in Hell.

Jesus Christ himself said that "woe to he by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better if that man had never been born." He calls him the "Son of Perdition". These chilling statements are completely flat and empty of meaning if Judas is not in Hell.

Ultimately though, the sin of Judas was less betraying Christ (though he certainly did), but more in his pride and despair. He did not truly believe in Christ. He believed that he was beyond redemption. He believed that his sin was greater than God's mercy, love, and forgiveness.

So yes, I believe Judas is in Hell.

Judas and for that matter Pontius Pilate were called to serve in God's plan. Effectively, they were players on a stage. On whether or not Judas went to heaven or hell, I am in favor of a Something Else answer. I do not know what that something else is. But in my belief system there is no eternal torment. There is spiritual death. Maybe it is a little like General Zod being sent to the phantom zone.

No and we know this because Judas was a popular name among early Christians who saw him as obeying Jesus's orders, "who I give this bread to will betray me," that is clearly an order to Judas to dob him in as Jesus knew he had to be crucified.


Judas wasn't vilified until centuries later. However you could argue that by committing suicide he condemned himself to Hell.

Suicide wasn't seen as a sin until St. Augustine.

I believe he’s dead and that’s it. I can’t say whether he will go to hell or heaven.

I definitely don’t think he will be rewarded though for choosing money over being loyal lol …

Sheol? Annihilation? Eternal conscious torment?

Christianity has a few.

If we're talking about the belief system of the early Jesus movement, he probably just went to Sheol. This doesn't match what we commonly think of as hell so the answer there would be no.

Since there is no defined Hell it's probably not true. It may be like how Trump has asked REAL UhmeriKKKans to clype on their neighbours who don't look white enough or speak with an accent (or even can speak another language)

Unfortunately, Jesus also said that he only lost one soul, referring to Judas.
Judas fell into the sin of despair and although he felt remorse for his action towards Jesus, he did not go to ask Jesus for forgiveness.
Peter betrayed Jesus 3 times and because he asked for forgiveness, he was forgiven.

I doubt it. There's nothing in the 10 Commandments about betraying/snitching on someone. He probably spent some time in Purgatory then went to Heaven.

No, he did not. In order to attain salvation, you have to: 1. Accept Jesus Christ as your savior. 2. You have to confess your sins. 3. You have to repent of your sins. And 4, You have to pray to Jesus for forgiveness.

The Old Testament Jews. Relied on blood sacrifice and works righteousness. To attempt to gain salvation. Jesus Christ canceled that dynamic. By providing people. A plan of salvation.

It is possible to have an epiphany late in life after a life of sin. It is a revelation that changes your heart and nature. That is what getting saved it is.
