Well, He wasn't baptized into it (since at the time of His baptism, it didn't exist yet), so not formally. If you mean to ask whether it's closest to what He was preaching, well, maybe- unfortunately, most of what would've been written about Him didn't survive the Judean revolt; what we've got left is extremely consistent, but secondhand. Consequently, while His message may have been MUCH more detailed, it hasn't come down to us.
What's left has a lot of gaps we've been struggling to fill in for nineteen centuries, since at no point was a clarification deemed necessary (hint, hint, God!).
Israelite.
I think he was a Jew. No seriously. If I can remember bits and peices of history. I never studied theology formally though.
Catholicism is newer and it's from Rome. And Jesus was from Nazareth, I think an ancient country somewhere in the Middle East. Not quite sure.
Edit: Okay nevermind, I just googled it lol. It's a country in Irsael so I'm right lol.
Christianity/Catholicism is newer I think than Judaism.
i mean technically he was a jew first and then a christian, i don't know when denominations of christianity began but if he wasn't alive for it then he's just a jew/christian

Jesus christ did not promote any man made religion. Only the truth.
definitely not. Catholic is a lot more about Mary. Jesus was Jewish, but formed a new organization... a church with himself as the cornerstone.
"Catholic is a lot more about Mary."
Where do you get that idea?
@BCRanger10 Mary is all over the place in what they say, imagery, prayers to Mary. In Christian church, Mary is not esteemed as much. How could I not see that?
Do you know why the Catholic Faith involves such a strong devotion to Mary?
@BCRanger10 no, got no training from my roman catholic family. when I go to catholic service... I do at times, there's no education.
Many Catholics - both individuals and families - are very poorly catechized, even at Catholic schools, many of which are garbage at best.
There's way too much to fit into a handful of comments on a social media app, as there are entire fields of study in the Church about Mary and the Church itself is over 2,000 years old. However, I think a good starting point would be to refer to St. John's Gospel at the very beginning, when he says that "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1.14), the same Word which we are told a few verses earlier is God. Where did the Word take flesh? In Mary's womb. Mary knew and loved Jesus better, more perfectly, more deeply, and more intimately than anyone else on Earth ever has or ever will because she is His mother.
In a real way, she was the first Christian.
Catholicism is the original Christian Church. All other denominations are a division against Christ so that people can believe in teachings that align with their personal beliefs and justification for their actions
Hell no. The Catholic institution/Church is of the Devil and persecuted and murdered true Christians and will do it again towards the end of the world.
It's right in the Bible. Book of Revelation.
Lol. Catholicism wasn’t even around back then when he was here.
He is God and He established the Catholic Church.
No but the Pope is Catholic and he thinks he is God
First he was a Jew, later he became the equivalent of what would today be an Orthodox Christian. Catholicism didn't exist yet.
He-brews his food
there was no such thing as catholic when jesus was alive
LOL, no. :D
