Would you struggle to teach a student who is openly atheist?

I mean, you don’t have to be super religious, but I find it very dark for a person to be so confident that we don’t have a soul and that there’s nothing but this. At least if you’re agnostic, you’re not sure. I think it really bothers me.

It sounds like you’re so deep in the kool-aid you can’t imagine drinking anything else. Understand that not everyone has the same calling to your god, and that your god appeals best to people like you, this student is very clearly not like you and has no desire to be. Leave it alone, focus on teaching and leave god out of it

Yes, but it also depends on what else they believe in. I know atheists who are, for example, national socialists/right-liberals who focus only in status and very traditional family structures and ofc money and actually use psychology to harm people they dislike. They don’t say someone is sinning or has an evil demon inside, but rather that someone is criminal or mentally ill and should do therapy (for example: go to the therapist instead of a christ monk but is the same moral behind it)

What does a person's religion, or lack thereof, have to do with their ability to learn? If you struggle to teach someone, based solely on your opinion of their beliefs, it would seem to indicate you're the one at fault, not them.

@strateguy632 In grad school I had a professor that actually I really liked this guy but one day I was trashing Obama's Cash For Clunkers program. How it caused prices of used cars to rise and hurt the middle class. Finally he told me "Okay, thats enough" Meanng he told me to shut up.
