Isn't this a fair question?

I don't know. Why did Humpty Dumpty sit on the wall in the first place? Why didn't Poe shoot the raven? Why does the coyote constantly buy all that junk from Acme?

The Pharaoh represents the ego and the babies represent the emotional consequences of living by ego and the forced abortion of those Egyptian babies meant they died and went to Heaven, instead of aging into adult hood and getting condemned to hell for mistreating Israel as mature human beings. I believe God sometimes lets young people die because if they die before the world corrupts them, they get better rewards in Heaven, but if they die after living wickedly in mature age, they die and go to hell.
It's amazing to me how easy it is to take any verse and twist it to fit someone's personal views.
My best guess is the Pharaoh alone didn’t bear enough responsibility. Sure, he led the society built on the backs of slaves and was the easiest way to get it to stop, but he wasn’t the one that made that happen and all of the Egyptian nobility was just as guilty, and the rest of their supporting citizens that took advantage of the culture that had been in place for generations. God was punishing all of them for the sins of their fathers and forefathers. Old Testament god really enjoyed punishments
Pharaohs were seen as living gods. Had he just died he'd have just been replaced. The health and prosperity of the nation were thought directly linked to the Pharaoh. By sending all the plagues god also destroyed thr peoples belief in the Pharaoh.
Logical question... but not to religious freaks, they dont know what logic is.
