Should a religion be more mysterious or should it be more understandable?

Question

In the religious sense, a "mystery" is defined by the Modern Catholic Dictionary as...

"A divinely revealed truth whose very possibility cannot be rationally conceived before it is revealed and, after revelation, whose inner essence cannot be fully understood by the finite mind. The incomprehensibility of revealed mysteries derives from the fact that they are manifestations of God, who is infinite and therefore beyond the complete grasp of a created intellect. Nevertheless, though incomprehensible, mysteries are intelligible. One of the primary duties of a believer is, through prayer, study, and experience, to grow in faith, i. e., to develop an understanding of what God has revealed."

So in this sense, should a religion be more mysterious or more understandable? And I suppose another question worth asking is what makes a religion (or aspect thereof) understandable? Should one try to comprehend every aspect, every belief, every word, action, and ritual?

A religion is not a mystery, it's historical and understandable, if you're referring to the miracles well these are supernaturals phenomenons, they cannot be explained because our studies in science cannot prove if these miracles can really happen, that doesn't mean that they are fake but to science they cannot be proven because science uses the laws physics and since the miracles defies the laws of the physics than they cannot be proven by science, it doesn't mean that they are impossible but maybe only impossible to us in our current understanding, that's why it's called faith?

Spiritual truths should be revealed proportionally to receiver's moral development. ㅤ

in other words i am against artificial practices to blast the third eye open or whatever unprepared people do to force themsleves to grasp spiritual concepts. It leads to mental illness anyway.

In order to understand it better, it. really makes a difference what type of Bible you read.

Personally I want to understand the Bible and all that it says. Life is mysterious enough for me.

I read from the New King James Bible because I understand what I am reading.

Depends what bible you read. I dont read the king James bible basically because they removed books from it and re edited it to suit the Church of England and King James's monarchy.

If it were more understandable, people would know that it is bullshit. The mythology is complicated because most people get lost in it and think "I don't really understand it but all these people are telling me they believe so it must be real." People like my friends and I hear it and think "This is f***ing absurd". I live in Seattle and don't know any believers.

Depends. If a religion claims their texts are from their divine, and its divine law or word, it has to be timeless and abundantly clear.
