I was at the No Kings Protest in the city of Long Beach California on Saturday. i was there with my political group buddies trying to collect signatures so we can show the city council there that the people want this!

So if you don't know Ranked Choice Voting is an election method in​ which voters rank candidates for an office in order of their preference (first choice, second choice, third choice, and so on). Ranking candidates is different from simply selecting one candidate or what is known as plurality voting. If a candidate receives more than half of the first choices, that candidate wins, just like in any other election. However, if there is no majority winner after counting the first choices, the race is decided by an instant runoff. The candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated, and voters who ranked that candidate as their first choice will have their votes count for their next choice. This process continues until a majority winner, a candidate with more than half of the vote, wins.

This has been implemented in Alaska and Maine and is also how mayor Mamdani in New York city won his primary against that crook Andrew Cuomo! We need a change folks! no more of this first past the post nonsense where you only get to choose between the lesser of two evils every time. Ranked choice is more fair and also tends to increase the voter turnout for elections. it destroys the apathy that is all too prevalent in our political system these days! If you see Ranked Choice Voting on your ballot wherever you live make sure to vote for it!

After my cycle ride today I called for a drink.

There was a couple about in their forties, and their dog was blocking everyone's passage.

The dog seemed to know what I was thinking, and began making a fuss over me as I tried to squeeze past, and I got the impression the dog was trying to say to me "I'm sorry I'm blocking everyone's path, but this is where my owners are sitting".

The couple could have sat out of the way, but seemed to take great delight, as people struggled past them without standing on their dog.

Are dogs more intelligent than some humans?

IMAGINE THIS SCENARIO: You and a boy have always been more than friends.. a quiet understanding, late-night talks, little gestures that blur the line. He finally says it outright and proposes something real. You care about him, but you’re not sure, so you ask for time.

That same week he goes out, drinks too much, and dials you. Your phone is already engaged with a call from another guy.. your best friend, nothing romantic, but it’s a long vent-session you don’t want to cut off. (Your guy) calls again. And again (10+ times). You see his name flash, your stomach knots, and you let it ring out because you’re not ready to face his voice right then.

He switches to text: IG, WhatsApp, short messages that get more urgent. You read them, guilt prickling, but you don’t answer. Confused and irritated, you block him everywhere like shutting a door to buy a minute of quiet.

Later the day you felt the guilt is louder than the fear. You unblock just enough to call. It rings, once, twice, and then voicemail. You wait for his call back... nothing comes.

The next day you hover over the unblock button. Part of you wants to explain: “I was on another call, I panicked.” Part of you freezes.. what if he leaves me on read? What if he says he’s done, that he’s moved on? That dread sits heavy, stealing sleep. You replay his silence, wonder if he’s already talking to someone else, feel the shame of your own avoidance.

"5 months have passed" (You were still waiting to fix) & beneath it all, another question: maybe you’re not just scared, maybe you really do need time and space to understand what you want before you try to fix what you broke.
