App That Tracks ICE Raids Sues U. S., Saying Officials Pressured Apple to Remove It

The developer of ICEBlock, which notifies users of ICE agent sightings, said Attorney General Pam Bondi censored his free speech.

For six months, Apple distributed an app called ICEBlock that allowed users to alert people when they saw Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. But after the Trump administration complained that the app endangered officers, Apple removed it.

On Monday, the app’s developer, Joshua Aaron, sued top Trump administration officials, accusing them of pressuring Apple to stifle his free speech and his right to create, distribute and promote ICEBlock.

The suit, which was filed in the U. S. District Court for the District of Columbia, claimed that Attorney General Pam Bondi abused the government’s power when the Justice Department contacted Apple and demanded it remove the app, which she said she had done in a statement to Fox News in October. She said that Apple removed the app after her request.

The legal action could reveal more about Apple’s decision making and compliance with edicts from the Trump administration. According to Apple’s own public reports, it has removed apps at the request of authoritarian governments like China and Russia, but not from the U. S. government.

I know this kind of topic comes up a lot, but my situation has a twist.

About two years ago I matched with a girl on Tinder. We moved over to Messenger (because we both felt we vibed) pretty quickly and had long, positive conversations with a really good flow. After 4–5 days I suggested a phone call, and we exchanged numbers, though we never actually ended up calling.

Shortly after that she said she felt unsure about what she was doing, and the conversation slowly fell apart. Eventually she told me she didn’t want to continue talking, so I respected that and we went our separate ways.

Fast-forward to last weekend: she matched me again. She responded to my opening message with a friendly, genuine reply. She also said she remembered our previous conversations and that she found them fun. She asked questions back and kept the tone light.

I replied 1–2 hours later the same day.

Since then, it’s been around 40 hours with no response, and Tinder shows she hasn’t read my message yet.

If this were a completely fresh match, I’d assume a ghost and move on.
But this is someone where we already had compatibility and great rapport before.

So I’m curious; why do you think she chose to rematch with me after two years?
Even though she hasn’t replied yet, should I still assume it’s a ghosting situation, or is it different in a case like this?

I remember a time when the news was too boring to watch. now it's like a reality show or a talk show with an agenda. it's grown into networks greed for money and salaciousness to drive revenue. it is primarily funded by a nonprofit organization called CPB (corporate public broadcasting) which gets federal funds and then disperses them to the stations. The CPB was formed by LBJ. and if LBJ did it, then that should tell you something about who has been in control of the news stations for 55 years! the same exact people in control of it now, only they don't rely on federal funding anymore (since July). That's when NPR and PBS went down basically. so the stations that were established like CNN, FOX, ABC, CBS were grown by the same funding as PBS and NPR. when trump signed that bill this year, he killed any hope of successful truthful unbiased news.
