A study was just released stating that by the year 2030, over 52% of women between the ages of 23-44 would not be able to get married and would not be able to have children as a result. With so many younger women nowadays not being able to successfully find love/marriage with someone who is willing to commit and have children, is it time to legalize plural marriage in America by at least allowing it to be an option or alternative for those who choose? Whether it’s something the rest of society agrees with or not in their personal life, or whether a person would or wouldn’t be involved in plural marriage themselves, is irrelevant. The question is simply this… Is it consistent under equal application or equal protection of the law that government should no longer unconstitutionally prohibit the legal practice of plural marriage, aka polygyny? The way it is currently with the anti bigamy laws, it seems very hypocritical and it can be argued that government is applying protections of law only to certain groups who cry for equality the loudest! So to recap, if a man is already married to one woman and she gives permission for him to be in a second or third marriage to an additional woman in each marriage, assuming they are all of legal age and everyone consents without duress of their own free will, why shouldn’t he and the new wife be able to also show up at any county courthouse in America and request an additional marriage license? US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts in his own dissenting opinion regarding the LGBTQ legal marriage decision made it clear from a legal standpoint on how the court would most likely rule should a case for plural marriage ever be brought before the court when he said “It is striking how much of the majority’s reasoning would apply with equal force to the claim of a fundamental right to plural marriage.”

Most people living in western counties would say hell no to this (for the most part me included).

But in other parts of the world there are arranged marriages where love is supposed to come later. Even back in 1800s and earlier people would often get married through community arrangements. One family knew another and the parents thought that their sons and daughters would make a good match. Even the ancient Spartans had this weird marriage ritual where they put young men and women together in a dark cave. Whoever opposite gender you grabbed first and walked out with into the light would become your spouse.

I have to wonder how often people ended up with someone they weren’t attracted to. However divorces were way less common many years ago. If so many people were really that miserable with their arranged marriage you would have to think there would be some serious mental health issues and more violence back then. But at least historically this wasn’t the case.

I hate to say it but as man I usually have my mind made up within 30 seconds of meeting a woman of how physically attracted I am to her.

Emotional attraction does still weigh heavily into it though. She can be hot af but if I can’t stand her personality and/or she’s has no genuine interest in me I can move on. I can also move on a lot faster nowadays vs. when I was younger.

But the issue is often come across women I find that are 5’s or 6’s. They aren’t repugnant or anything but I don’t feel any butterfly’s in my stomach either. More often than not they really like me because while I am nice to them I also don’t bend over backwards for them either. I’m just as happy to be there or not be there. Either way is fine. So it’s easy to be myself.

But as a man I find that the ugly truth is I have never found myself growing in attraction for average looking women despite some of them having excellent personalities. I really have tried to “check myself” on this. Tell myself to look deeper. Tell myself to “grow up”. Feel guilty af about it.

But if tried to force myself to date and commit to average looking yet great personality girls in the past. It always ends in disaster. I quickly lose interest in sex and find myself having less patience about their problems. And I know that’s not fair at all.

Is it possible for a man to slowly fall in love with a woman he isn’t attracted to?

I am asking this because I have an opportunity to get married to an average looking girl who is outstanding in all other ways. She’s a very hard worker, respectful, excellent personality, moderate conservative, has no vices, etc. She’s also younger (27) yet mature and independent.

Yet she has a rather unattractive face and I feel Iike complete shit saying that. She’s was born with that those facial features and has zero control over them. I keep kicking myself not to judge that but it’s hard.
