I was realizing growing up, not a single one of my crushes liked me back, at least to my best knowledge.

I am 27, almost 28, and I never had a real girlfriend.

I lost my virginity at age 20 to a 16 year old girl during a weekend fling, and she did not want to pursue a relationship with me afterwards. I felt I had to almost sell my soul just to lose my virginity.

I had online things with girls, but they both rejected me upon meeting in person the first time. Neither of them were attracted to me, despite carrying on conversations everyday, sometimes for months.

I turn 28 later this year as I inch very close to hitting my 30s. I have missed a lot of major developmental milestones in my youth, and I feel like I am reaping it today.

I have never had a real girlfriend or been in an actual relationship. I have only had sex with one woman only one time during a weekend fling. She was 16; I was 20. I felt like I had to sell my soul to get this opportunity. She was also a virgin too supposedly. I never actually "made love" to a woman before.

Meanwhile, I am watching the vast majority of my peers growing up get married, have kids, and/or both.

I have a very bad track record. I have been unable to maintain stable employment. I never held a job for more than a year. My mental health sucks. I also have a criminal record now (stalking and harassment). I am socially inept.

In terms of socio-emotional development, I am very behind and immature for my age. I feel I haven't "fulfilled" my youth to move on to the next stages in life.

Do you think in the 2020s, it's much harder to be between 10 and 17 years old? Or do you think it's much easier?

As a teacher, I think it's both easier and harder for kids nowadays. Easier because you have the internet and can learn more things on your own, if you're dedicated enough. You have access to more information (and misinformation) and really can learn from people all over the world, as long as you can speak the same language. You can also get real-world opinions from adults, like some of the teenagers on GAG do.

However, I think it's also harder cause you got more shady people trying to indoctrinate, brainwash, and control you more than we ever did in the 90s and 2000s. From CRT and "white guilt" to "toxic masculinity" and "trans-acceptance" and all other BS inbetween.

I'm SO glad I didn't have to grow up with biological men competing in women's sports, and then having teachers tell me I'm supposed to clap and applaud this Clown World insanity. Or that I didn't have to grow up with proud p-dophiles trying to brainwash seven year olds with se-uality and LGBT crap and will protest against any Florida bills banning that from happening in schools.

My students are Korean kids fluent in English who love Western pop culture and haven't grown jaded and bitter like Millennials are. But man, the world they're about to enter in eight or so years... No more role models or non-idiots left to look up to in our society. Yikes.

And I thought growing up in the 90s and 2000s kinda sucked...

Anyways, the girl I had an online relationship with not long ago is getting married to someone else today. I have been extremely depressed over it for a long time. I have cried so much this past week, I can hardly cry anymore. This guy gets to be her first everything.

I noticed that I don't know anyone personally that is in my shoes. I don't know anyone who has made it to my age without having a serious, long term relationship. In fact, most of my peers I have known growing up are married, have kids, or both.
