The US Army just swore in four tech executives as Lieutenant Colonels: Shayam Sankar, the CTO of Palantir (Peter Thiel’s company), Andrew Bosworth, the CTO of Meta (Mark Zuckerberg’s company) and OpenAI’s chief product officer Kevin Weil and former chief research officer Bob McGrew, (the company belonging to Sam Altman.)

These four men are all now one rank away from a General. Second-in-command for field-grade officers. There are 16 ranks lower than a Lieutenant Colonel and these four untrained civilians just leapfrogged over soldiers who have dedicated their entire career and lives to the US military.

Apparently, these men are going to work on “targeted projects to help guide rapid and scalable tech solutions to complex problems.” A sentence that means absolutely nothing because clearly this is just a way of giving these companies access to top-secret information without them having to go through any pesky background checks. If that doesn’t scare you, it really should, because we already know that Palantir is building a massive centralized database using much of the information they acquired from DOGE, Elon Musk’s foray into the American government.

These billionaire tech-bros are compiling lists of our most sensitive information. Our tax records, medical data, bank accounts, Social Security information, immigration status, etc. This administration is allowing them to build the infrastructure for techno-feudalism. Authoritarianism in the form of data and surveillance.

The people who are using the government against you are now taking over military authority. The corruption is calculated and staggering. And I can only hope that our veterans and active-duty military are paying incredibly close attention. And now that you know you should be talking about it.

I noticed over the years that women bring up height excessively more then men do. They not only talk about height in romantic scenarios but with platonic / professional interactions with men as well.

But every time women mentions a man being short, it’s almost always a negative connotation. Even if they like the short guy they will say something like “well he’s not very tall but he’s really cute or funny” or something.

But if a girl doesn’t something else about the short guy (his personality, looks, etc.) they virtually always bring up his height. Especially if they reject the man romantically.

But at the same time guys are less prone to say “well she’s really sweet & cool despite being overweight” out loud. We might be thinking that but we are not allowed by modern culture to say that because it’s “too mean” or something.

I am 6ft so fortunately height isn’t an issue for me. Like anyone I notice other people’s heights in most situations but I don’t immediately factor that into my judgment of people.

I once dated a girl who was 5’ 11’’. Despite my favorite female body type being cute, petite and athletic, her being tall and skinny was virtually a non issue for me. It did make things slightly more complex in bed (shorter girls are more versatile) But I didn’t really care that much. It was like factor number 37 out of 50 for me.

Also I don’t notice height at all in platonic and professional interactions with women or men. I don’t asume a really short guy or a really tall girl might have a negative personality right away. Some short guys do have napoleon syndromes. I’ve met a few short loud mouthed dbags. But overall that stereotype is often exaggerated.

I guess height judgment is evolutionary for females. But women need to understand that men have no control over their height whatsoever.

If you are more attracted to taller men then fine. But if you don’t like a shorter guy than don’t throw out his height as one of his “faults” like he had a choice in the matter.

A decline in mutual respect, freedom, and trust in modern relationships — especially among Millennials and Gen Z — is causing love to fail and servitude to rise in its place.

• Respect: Emotional labor is heavily imbalanced. Studies note that women often carry the “mankeeping” burden (managing the relationship’s emotional/social side), while only 12% of men over 30 say they feel fully valued by their partner (The Week, 8 at the Table). Both sides feel disrespected—men for their sacrifices, women for their roles.
• Trust: Gen Z is drifting into “situationships”—36% say they’re unsure how to even define their relationship (American Survey Center). Add in politics, which has become a dating deal-breaker (Newsweek), and it’s no surprise trust between men and women is eroding.

• Freedom: Gender role expectations still dominate. Research across 29 countries shows when men lose jobs in “male breadwinner” cultures, the risk of separation skyrockets—not because of money, but because freedom from rigid roles doesn’t really exist (PMC study). Men feel trapped in provision/protection, while women feel pressured to “do it all.” Both blame the other for limiting their freedom.
• Relationships overall: Gen Z is disengaging—described as a “relationship recession” by researchers. Many are opting out of dating or even intimacy altogether (UCL, The Guardian). Pew found 63% of men under 30 are single, compared with 34% of women (Vox). That gap itself shows massive distrust and disconnect.

So when respect, trust, and freedom are all crumbling, what’s left? Love can’t survive under those conditions. What you get instead is obligation and servitude, one partner bending to the other’s demands just to keep the relationship going.
